This is the 4th year that I have stayed in a Les Etincelles hotel and based on this experience it will be the last. On arrival the room type that I had booked had been changed- significantly smaller bed, different bathroom- plus lipstick stained glasses, no plug for the bathroom sink, a shower curtain that was not connected to the wall and kept falling down and robes and slippers missing. Not what I expect from a 4* hotel. I attempted to resolve this with both the hotel directly and with Hotels.com as I simply wanted the room type that I had booked, but no help was forthcoming.
At breakfast it was a game of find the coffee cup, find a plate and then find a clean table. That coupled with having to request refills for most breakfast items on most days meant that breakfast was not the best start to the day.
Onto the positives - the staff in the restaurant and bar were very friendly and personable, and often went over and above to make dinner time an engaging experience. The pizza from the bar menu made for a tasty lunch. Also the location, right next to the lifts was perfect for a ski in-ski out holiday.
