Wonderful view of the bay. Excellent bed. The AC did not work properly. Had to drop the thermostat to 16.5 degrees C after midnight. Overnight it turned off. Was too warm. Desk said would have the manager address the problem. Also said I paid Hotels.com and he can’t give us a concession/discount. Since 13-14 of August, we have not heard from the hotel. They should stand behind the quality of their hotel when there is a problem or complaint. We love Israel and come multiple times every year. We stayed in Dan hotels in Eilat and Tel Aviv in years past. Dan should stand behind the quality of its hotels.

I've stayed at the Dan Carmel many times over many years. The hotel is in a fantastic location in the most beautiful spot in the city, with panoramic views of the Haifa harbor and bay. The pool is gorgeous. The breakfast buffet is delicious. The property itself is a little tired and could do with a renovation, but it's very clean and luxuriously comfortable.

The room was cllen very comfort and the staff was great, they had a problem with the water plumbing, no running water between 5 pm to 06:30 am so we couldn't take a shower or wash our face, finally they fixed the problem but it was too late for us.

Hotel needs renovation in public spaces the tiles are from the 60” in hallway to the pool and exercise room. The carpet need to be update in the lobby. The floor in bathroom bathrooms. Need replacement. Same in the dining room area.

Lovely property in good condition. Front desk staff should be more forthcoming in answers. Specifically I asked about a late check-out that the clerk approved but the clerk did not note that I would be charged an additional 800 shekels. Breakfast buffet is substantial but of uneven quality. The quality is more important than quantity.

This is not a 5 star property, not even close. Hotel condition is very bad, the property is in bad need of a renovation. Service is curtly at best. Breakfast is the worst hotel buffet we have ever had. Gym is smaller than a hotel room with little equipment. Location is the only positive, albeit far from all restaurants. Suggest staying somewhere else.

WORST HOTEL

This hotel discriminates against Arabs and Muslims, they took a deposit to do a security check on us because I was a hijabi, plz note im American born, and was simply vacationing, my kids were confused as to why everyone was staring at us and not wanting to go into elevator with us, bell man lied and said no hotel parking when indeed there was, there’s places closer to beach or apts to rent trust me as a mom who only wanted a good experience for her kids but instead was left in tears - DO NOT STAY HERE

This is supposed to be a luxury property, so I am disappointed. In all, I regret paying extra to stay here vs Dan Panorama or other cheaper properties. With some exceptions the staff was unnecessarily rude. These are tough times for everyone but obviously if you take a vacation the staff maybe could be a bit nicer maybe? There was no nespresso or similar machine in the room, just a water boiler. The facilities are fine, but it’s not a fun place to stay at, just a place to sleep. Basic things were broken like the water bar in the spa and the pool and the toaster at breakfast, The room was nice and had a nice view of the sea and a big bathroom. The breakfast was big and diverse, so that was nice.
