6/10 Good

The room looked like it was recently decorated but there is deeper things that need attention. We were on the first floor of the stables , everytime you walked on it there was a loud creaking noise, felt sorry for the people below. The same was on the stairs & hallway, so loud it sounded like they were in the room. The furniture in the room is definitely in need of renewing along with the bed. The place looks impressive on the internet but we wouldn’t stay here again.

8/10 Very good

We just stayed one night as we were visiting family nearby. It was fine, other than the unplanned fire alarm going off in the middle of the night in our room. Still no idea why. It would have nice to have been told something by staff though as we left. Hotel was fine and good value.

2/10 Poor

I was stood waiting for 15 mins to check in whilst the owner talked to her husband at the front desk. She did call for someone to come in the end as her conversation with husband was more important. The music off a live band mad it impossible to sleep. I special booked in due to traveling and needed rest.

Nightmare

No Internet service, TV signal weak. First night woken up at 2 am by people outside talking loudly and going in and out of rooms which lasted for at least 2 hours. Hotel did apologise but did not seem to care and was not offered compensation. The pub meal I had the first night the Chicken was so dry, so generally a bad stay

Worst Hotel and Dinning Experience EVER!

Booked the Elms Hotel for a business trip and it was a disaster. I’ve travelled all over the world on business and this is the worst experience and service I’ve ever had. Booked a double room and was put in the “Stables” area which is like a container and nothing like the images. The bed was like a bag of concrete and no typical accessories where available such as hairdryer etc. Went for breakfast one morning and it took 25 minutes to arrive from when ordered meaning I was late for work. Only one person working at the desk and seemed to do everything! Trying to check out was a nightmare! I was in the “stables” external to the main hotel entrance so trying to gain access for breakfast (which was already booked similar to the shambles the previous day) the door was locked with buzzer not working. I knocked on the door and windows for 10 minutes with no answer from any staff. Eventually I had to phone the hotel to let me in and hand the room key back. A very rude member of staff (who also served breakfast and checked me in) just asked me to pop the key through the letter box when I had booked breakfast! I told him to leave breakfast as I was late for work and wanted an invoice. He then swore at me telling me I had to pay for breakfast even though it was unavailable for that morning! I left furious with no invoice and no breakfast and he was following me into the car park. The most awful hotel experience and please avoid at all costs!!!

Very pleasant and helpful staff. The room we were booked into in the Stables was very dark so we asked to change rooms. I was allowed to view the next room which looked like a palace compared to the Stable room but on closer inspection realised it was very dated and needs a major update

It was a bit shabby but very comfortable. A hole in the bathroom plaster and wallpaper should have been rectified.I thought breakfast could have been included in the price but the bar prices were very good. An enjoyable stay.

Amazing

I just want to say I attended Mark and Emma’s Wedding Saturday 6th July and it is THE BEST wedding I have ever been too. You went above and beyond for us all, the food was absolutely out of this world, the staff was amazing and couldn’t do enough for us, the room we stayed in was spot on, the decorations was out this world and you made the whole day so special ❤️ absolutely amazing ❤️ 5 stars from me without a doubt ⭐️ Thank you so much

Overnight Stay Wednesday 5th June 2024

I found my stay at The Elms to be very pleasant and convenient. I stayed in The Stables just around the corner from the main hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean. There were plenty of teas and coffees. The shower was decent. I enjoyed a good night's sleep. I also had dinner at the Indian Restaurant within the hotel. If I am in the area again, I will have no hesitation in staying there again

Very clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Big breakfast. Decor has obviously been updated but still needs work in the stable rooms. Floorboards very creaky, which must be noisy for the downstairs guests.
