Historical Lidging!

A very interesting location. We didn’t stay in one of the old buildings instead a more modern old home. It was well appointed, spacious and comfortable! Very happy with our stay!

Cute cabin

Lovely cute cabin/hut set near Gol. Very warm and welcoming owner. The hut is very clean and tidy but is somewhat small. Anyone tall will have to bend a lot. That said, it was warm inside and cosy and the surrounding area very beautiful.

Beautifully converted old tradition farm house. Clean, warm and good kitchen and bathroom. However, when I booked it, I thought the breakfast is included, but there was an automatic message came in straight away ask if I need breakfast. I sent multiple messages during 2 weeks time with no answer at all. At the time we get there, we were told breakfast is not included, it will be 400NOK per person.

Hesla Gård (Farm) is so charming. There has been great care in preserving the historic buildings, the lodging is clean and very comfortable, and the inn hosts are wonderful. Easy walk to town (10 min) and to local sites, such as the Gol Church, and to hiking trails. I look forward to my next visit!

This is a super charming place to stay, and perfecly situated not far from Hemsedal. The surroundings are authentic, yet with all facilities on point, and the staff is very welcoming and service-minded. I can warmly recommend this place.

Massive disappointment!

Probably my worst paid accommodation ever. I booked and paid my room approx 1 month ago based on pictures and reviews. When I arrived they’d lost my reservation. Got a room after all, but it looked nowhere close to pictures presented at Hotels.com, The standard was completely worn down. It was in the basement of a tired house located 150-200 yards from the reception at Hesla Gard , and in between was a construction site. The house was maybe from the sixties and, and I don’t think much has been done to the apartment since. There was a TV, but it didn’t work. It was cold and I tried to put on some heat, but the only thing that worked was the bathroom floor. I only checked glasses in the kitchen and they were so dirty that nobody would consider dinking from them without doing the dishes first. Furniture was old and tired, but nothing like antiques. Bathroom carpet so old and dirty that it should be burned. They have a kitchen, but had no place for me for dinner. Breakfast was similar but, but I was offed a ”quick breakfast “ consisting of coffee and a waffle. I skipped it and will definitely drive past this place next time.

Op het eerste zicht leek de ons voorgestelde kamer een leuke optie. Een beetje speciaal, dat wel maar 500 jaar oud was wel een leuke bijgedachte. Tot we die avond nog wat gezellig probeerden na te praten en we constateerden dat de kamer vergeven was van dode en levende wespen. Tot in het bed vonden we wespen en vliegen. De volgende dag kregen we een andere, gelukkig, betere kamer. We vroegen ons wel af of de eigenaar toch niet een beetje op de hoogte was van het wespenprobleem...?

Hesla gård var en fantastisk plass, med svært hyggelig ansatte/eiere. Vi kom sent på kvelden og fikk den siste leiligheten som var å oppdrive. Det var upåklagelig renhold av sengene og håndklær. Koselig pyntet med markblomster da vi kom inn. Det var generelt ordentlig, men svært enkelt oppusset med brukte og slitte møbleri varierende stil. Det var nokså overraskende ikke vasket på gulvet. Det var et fint lag av sand i leiligheten som man merket når man gikk barbent. Det var ikke synlig. Badet var godt vasket. Kjøkkenet helt ok. Det luktet røyk på morgenen. Vet ikke hvor det kom fra. Vi hadde ikke noe vindu oppe. Ingen mugglukt. God og varm dusj. Alt i alt en god opplevelse. Det var billig. De andre overnattingsmulighetene på gården er dyrere, trolig også en fantastisk opplevelse. Ute området var flott. Gården ser nydelig ut. Vi fikk tilbud om frokost i 250 kr. per pers med mat laget fra bunnen av, også brød. Vi benyttet oss ikke av dette fordi vi skulle tidlig videre. Men det hørtes nydelig ut. Svært koselig personale. Drar gjerne hit igjen.

Rommet var støvete og såpedispensere kladdete av gammel såpe. Tekjøkken greit nok for en natt. Manglet pære i lampe ved seng. TV funket ikke. Seng ikke helt optimal. Hyggelige gamle møbler gir fint inntrykk. Det meste ødelegges for vår del av at vi får beskjed om at ingen gjester skal lomme denne dagen. De påstår at når gjesten booker via Hotels.com har de ikke oversikt fordi de ikke får beskjed. Vi har via hotels.com motatt e- post ang. frokost... så noe beskjed må jo ha kommet dem for øre... Finner ingen resepson og ingen stab. Ringer oppgitt nummer flere ganger uten å få svar. Vi står ute i kulden i 30 min. før vi per telefon (av en person som virker sur og irritert) blir tildelt rom. Frister ikke veldig til gjentakelse.
