"Got this room for my sister-in-law. Not only did she not feel safe there but the room was dilapidated- the walls had extreme levels of peeling paint and the sheets were heavily stained. She didn’t stay the night and I will be contesting the charges. "

"This hotel is central to everywhere we want to go in SF! Plus, we feel safe in this neighbourhood. We love the atmosphere at Union Square, and BART is close by for our trips out to the suburbs. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean, and our room requests were met 100%. We have stayed at the Handlery many times over the years, and will stay here again! "At check in, we asked for room service every day (you have to ask for it) but even though we requested daily room service, they still didn't provide it on one of our three nights. They also kept leaving us only two towels even though there were 4 of us, so we had to keep requesting more towels. The breakfast is good, and if you add it on at check in, it is a good value. Parking is convenient."
