The Explorer had all the perks you would want at an upscale hotel: cozy bed and pillows, cleanliness, outlets for charging tech, good tv, Starbucks coffee in room, convenient shuttle, etc... However, I believe the biggest benefit of the Explorer is its view! Seeing the lake, city, and beyond from the warmth of my room was an unexpected and wonderful surprise. The restaurant had an interesting menu, but they did not take walk-ups the night we wanted to try it. (Or we didn’t look upscale enough...
