Learn more about Yellowknife
Gaze skyward from August to April as the Northern Lights perform their ethereal ballet above Aurora Village. The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre reveals gold rush tales that shaped this frontier town perched on Great Slave Lake. For a truly northern adventure, mush across frozen waters on a dog sledding expedition. Frame Lake Trail offers wilderness within city limits, while the quirky-named Ragged Ass Road provides the perfect photo opportunity. Bush Pilot's Monument rewards climbers with panoramic views of Yellowknife Bay. After exploring Cameron River Falls Trail, join locals at the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre where performances reflect the rich blend of Indigenous traditions and frontier spirit that defines this remote capital.

Chateau Nova Yellowknife
"Great place and services."
YK Aurora B&B
"Sophia keeps the place so neat and clean and always has snacks out for everyone to share in the dining area. Tea and coffee are also available 24/7 and the requisite hot water needed for these beverages was always plentiful and ready to pour. There's even a separate fridge for guests to store their food. Any concerns from guests were always addressed right away. Walking distance to everything downtown made everything easy. She helped us (and others) book aurora hunting tours and provided lots of information about the neighbourhood (post office, Farmer's market, etc.). We would have appreciated a mirror in our room and a sink that didn't splash out quite so much (motion sensored and powerful!). Thank you for a lovely and memorable stay!"
