"I can’t believe I waited so long to come over to the mainland from Roatan! Rio Cangrejal and the beautiful jungle should not be missed.
The rooms at Omega all feature the sights and sounds of nature and are gorgeous. There are so many areas on the property to relax or explore. There are several hiking trails on the property through the jungle, running near a serene stream or up to beautiful viewpoints. Mimi, the sweetest dog you could ever meet, is happy to hike with you if you need a 4-legged companion. You can also walk the dirt road to multiple access points to Rio Cangrejal. I intended to stop by a neighboring resort for a meal, but the food was so good we never ate outside Omega. Pico Bonito National Park is also just a short walk away with hiking trails and a suspension bridge. Although, if you are capable, I’d highly recommend Omega’s guided hike! After stopping for a swim in a smaller waterfall, a hike and rock scramble take you to the most gorgeous spot under the mist of beautiful El Bejuco falls. It’s a trail that you could not possibly find without Omega’s wonderful guide. We also had a great rafting trip down the beautiful river. It felt very safe with local guides who had rafted this river for 15+ years. Our whole stay at Omega is wonderful! Big thanks to the staff and owners that make this place magical. I hope to be back to escape the mid-week cruise ship madness of Roatan again someday.

"Yes our room was over looking at the beach and pool, beautiful view. The gym had enough equipments for a workouts. We had a nice waiter Cesar who make as feel like real guests he made a difference in our stay. "
"Great resort for families. Kind staff and good service. Historic location. Needs improvement in certain areas: beach needs to be cleaned up in front of the resort - lots of garbage around left by public and the resort isn’t cleaning properly; kids pool, which our kids loved playing in because of the slides, could use a lot more trees around. Way too much cement and large empty unused areas of cement make the area around the pool several degrees hotter and could easily be improved by planting a few more trees; games room need upgrading - old, broken ping pong and foosball tables; restaurant service was inconsistent - sometimes great, other times was not; coffee should be provided in the room every morning and not just the first morning (especially in a country that produces so much coffee). Overall we had a very good visit, largely because the kids had a great time, but could have been made much better with just a little bit more effort."
"Solo traveler here, stopping by before heading to Roatan. The hotel was easy to find, but there aren’t many restaurants around if you come here at night. The staff is helpful and polite.
The room is a little run down but there are no bugs or dirt. You can hear rats at night, but they have traps so they’re currently fixing the problem and won’t go in the room.
They have hot water too. I felt safe staying there.
The only issue was that they did NOT have breakfast in the morning. I don’t think it was the hotels fault. But more of the restaurant not being open.
