What a lovely place. And Patrick the host was impeccable. They went above and beyond to deal with my chemical sensitivities, switching out to fragrance free soap & cleaners for me, and opening the windows and completely airing the apartment before arrival. They sent a great e-mail that explained in detail how to get to the property & how to access it. Worked flawlessly. The location was fabulous, we easily walked everywhere. Patrick even answered my questions about where to find a specific gift I was looking for.
I will say that there are a few things that I should mention however. It is an end unit, with the one bedroom on the ground floor. The entire apartment is in a line (bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom), with the bedroom in the front (with the bay window), and there is a small sidewalk & boat dock just outside. So at night we had to close the curtains. There is a small hallway that leads from the living area to the bedroom that is 2-steps down, then 2 steps back up (lowered to avoid hitting your head on the stair to the upstairs apartment??). With the curtains closed it was dark & doing those steps at night to get to the opposite end of the apartment to go to the bathroom was a bit dicey. Fortunately I brought a small battery tealight and placed it on a step so I could see at night.
Also, a small written sheet to explain basics, like garbage/recyling requirements, location of hair dryer (desk in bedroom) & outlet adapter (kitchen cupboard) would be helpful.
