The essence of Rhode Island!!!

A Fabulous Adventure

A beautiful piece of history! The house is lovely and unique! We stayed in the Lantern Room which had access to the cupola via a spiral staircase in the room! The view from there is spectacular! We ordered a charcuterie board for a light dinner and ate it in the cupola while enjoying the scenery. You can bike (free to use), walk along the shore, swim, enjoy meals out, read, play games and so much more! Delicious breakfast is provided each morning while warm cookies and lemonade are served each afternoon! You can relax or be as busy as you want to be!! We loved our 3 day visit!!

This inn is in a terrific location but fell a little short with the amenities offered. The literature mentioned things such as a fire pit at night and drinks/small bites at the historic tavern. The fire pit did not happen the night we were there and the tavern was closed for some reason. There are not many other options close by so to have the tavern closed was unfortunate. We had a room in the adjoining barn that was very spacious and well maintained. However, there was definitely an odor that indicated moistness on the first floor and some of the hallway areas.

Super nice stuff. Loved the fire place and smores in the evenings with the kids. Having bicycles at the property was a big plus as we could ride down to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stone House Inn

Great short stay and wished it was longer. Amazing room that has a lovely view. The staff really has a genuine love for this property, it showed through the attention and care. A nice little walk to a private beach and a short drive to a cute Cheese shop. Looking forward to our next stay here.

This was a very peaceful, beautiful spot and just a short walk to a very beautiful beach. Our fireplace didn't function the entirety of our stay which was a disappointment because that was one of the amenities that made us book in the first place.

A very beautiful and quiet location. The inn is very cute with some fun history. It even has an old speakeasy in the basement. Be sure to take a bicycle ride to the ocean and take a drive into Four Corners Tiverton. There's also a Vinyard up the street, a greenhouse, and plenty of coffee shops if that's your thing. About a 45 minute drive into Newport but there should be enough local activities to keep you busy durring your stay.

This place is magical. Totally relaxing surroundings. We took a bike ride to the beach and walked along. There are swans in the large pond next to the hotel and bunnies everywhere in the morning. The nearby town is untouched from when I last visited 30 years ago. There is a great new coffee place in four corners about 15 minutes away. S’mores by the fire at night were fun. Rooms were very comfortable and updated

The Stone House was an amazing surprise!! Beautiful property in and out and so easy- easy to check in, eat, hang out, use the amenities. There are more activities that we didn’t use. I wish they could build a pool but alas it’s not allowed. Such a sweet, nice little spot in the sleepy town of Little Compton!

nice stay but disappointed in AC

Beautiful property with close proximity to the ocean for wonderful morning walks. Service staff was great. Our only issue (which is a big one), was that the central geothermal AC wasn't working and it wasn't very cool in our room. I just wish they would have disclosed that on their website when booking the room. They touted major renovations a couple of years ago and mentioned the new geothermal AC replacement. They didn't disclose that the AC hasn't been working properly since they installed it.

Not at all what I expected

The marketing of this property is wonderful which is why I didn't mind paying $682.52 for one night. What I did not expect was that we spent the night in a renovated barn and could not see the beach from our two very small windows. The setting was quaint and very secluded. I walked down to the end of the property looking for the beach which I never found. The room was OK (though without a microwave which is an essential for my husband). The sectional did not have any coffee nor end tables which made it difficult to set down a drink. We could not watch the television from the bed as there was a column in the way. We were charged a $25 resort fee to cover water and coffee (which is always included in our stays elsewhere). We have traveled extensively and expected great things for the price tag..... one staying in the stone house and the other, a view of the beach (not a pond).
