San Juan de la Isla is fabulous. The website doesn’t begin to do it justice. It is beautiful beyond words, the employees are kind and helpful, the facilities are a wow and the setting is gorgeous.

Romantic getaway, stayed in a beach cottage and loved it. If you love nature and like to see lots of it around you, including monkeys and parrots, this is the place Food is not great though.

Such a wonderful experience traveling with family, young children and our service animal. The location is breathtakingly beautiful with its forestry natural landscape, wildlife in the trees (monkeys!) and opportunities to horseback ride all around the property, pueblito, and the beach. Stunning views and the only sad thing is we could not stay longer due to other plans, but we’ll be back here for sure!

The property is 2KM in via dirt / somewhat paved road (can be a bit rough). Once there, paradise. Cabins are lake side; clean and nice! Restaurant is good and can eat along side exotic birds (that are waiting for you to drop something:)

Pros: -tranquil setting right along the beach -stunningly lush property with plenty of howler monkeys and birds -beautifully appointed rooms (we had a cabin on the lake) -very clean -staff were very kind -highly recommend if you’re looking for a scenic and relaxing place among nature. Cons: - not the fault of the finca but plenty of mosquitos around due to pond behind cabins - poorly lit path from main road to the finca - overpriced food. We had 4 different menu items and would only recommend the chicken and carrot soup. -due to the sand and windy conditions, the rug in the room needed a good cleaning.
