We have just returned from 2 nights at Malangen Brygger. The hotel is very new and modern, located right on a fjord. We stayed in a superior room in the hotel, although there are a range of lodge and cabin accommodation options. We were initially checked into a standard "accessibility room" by mistake and we were a little disappointed by it, but this was soon realised and corrected. The rooms all have large windows and overlook the fjords - really stunning views to wake up to particularly with the bed facing the window. The superior rooms are slightly larger and have a sitting area, and the design is modern and clean. There was no in room safe or minibar, but otherwise a lovely room with great facilities.
The only reason I haven`t given a 5 star rating is because the hotel was very quiet during our stay, with only 2 other groups we saw at breakfast and dinner. As such, the hotel generally only had 1 staff member on who would both wait on, serve at the bar and run reception, so generally they were fairly stretched. The staff were all very friendly, but could have been more attentive if just having 1 job to do. Sometimes you would turn around to order a glass of wine, and no one would appear for a while. The selection at breakfast was also very limited, again I suspect due to the few number of guests staying.
