Hotel, as others have mentioned is very outdated. The bathroom was pretty gross and the room had not been cleaned very well. There was stuff from other guests under the bed and a blanket of dust. Extremely inconvenient that they do not have Wi-Fi in the rooms, especially being in the middle of nowhere. Also, the amenities are horrible. They give only two towels for three people and rooms had no soap shampoo, body wash, nothing. It’s my biggest pet peeve when hotels don’t give a hand or face towel. This hotel had many people staying there. It’s not like they don’t make enough money to give out some extra hand towels.. Restaurant had many things not available and the food was two star . The cheesecake was rotten and absolutely horrible.

The room was extremely outdated, as many others have mentioned. The whole property is not well maintained, which is quite sad because the pool area is comfortable and nice. The room itself is quite large and has a balcony, but there are only two chairs, no table and no patio furniture. What is the point of having a balcony if you can’t sit outside? The beds were comfortable, but that’s about it. There was no hot water at all, and despite complaining several times, the most we got was lukewarm water, which is not acceptable for a supposedly 4-star property. There were only two large towels for the three of us, no bath mat for the shower and no hand towel, which are very basic amenities. The staff was generally friendly, except for the woman at reception who was quite rude, as well as one of the waiters at the restaurant. The food we had at the restaurant was quite good and reasonably priced, but the whole atmosphere felt very awkward. The hotel seemed almost empty, there was no music in the restaurant, and it honestly felt like the hotel was about to close down.It is extremely sad because my mom had stayed at this hotel twice before, and we could clearly see how the lack of maintenance has led to its decline. To be honest, for the price we paid, we expected a much better experience.The pool, the restaurant staff and the beauty of the surroundings were good enough to somewhat make up for the disappointment, but we sincerely hope the hotel management takes action and renovates t

A lovely family friendly hotel

Wonderful staff and a fantastic pool. The location is amazing with view over the jungle with Mayan ruins visible in the distance. The food is great home cooked and good for the kids too. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The front of the hotel needs a lick of paint but when you consider all of the other great things about this hotel it gets top marks from us. The staff were attentive and the grounds were pretty - access to the ruins is very easy and close. The beds were comfortable, the showers good and the air conditioning worked well. The only thing I would suggest is putting some furniture on the balcony for us although we had chairs inside to pull outside. The views are spectacular and to have some nice lounge chairs on the balcony would have been perfect.
