The PROs were that the room was great for us. This property is going to be amazing but for now September/26 if you are expecting anything more than a good night's rest in the amazing and clean beds then wait for completion. Also should be noted that there is no elevator so three flights of stairs was greuling with luggage although the host offered his help. We simply planned our comings and goings ahead of time. These owners are doing their best for those booking the Grand Union Hotel. We definitely had a few laughs over the issues so with that frame of mind, you'll do ok.

The room was clean and in good condition but the rest of the place was tired. It’s a 100+ year old hotel in the midst of a renovation. It will likely be a nice place in the future but not so much now

Upon arriving we were told the hotel was under new ownership as of August 1st. They have started renovating, however they have a long way to go. It served its purpose and if you are on a budget and not picky it was okay.

Definitely needs an overhaul, they are renovating rooms it seems, but we had an in between one, new paint/caulking, so it smelled really strong, the washroom hadn't been done yet, and the bath/shower was not inviting, so we skipped taking a shower. No fan/air exchange so got headaches from the fumes. Walls are paper thin, we went there for the price, but will certainly upgrade next time we're passing through and stay somewhere else.
