The first night was awful. Wee were given a room which was over the kitchen and had the most awful humming noise all night long - we could not sleep. The obsosly have had complaints about this room in the past but seem to ignore them and continue to to put guests in there.
After several complaints and phone calls while on our day trip out we finally got them to move us to an alternative room which was 100% better. Shame we could not have had this from the start.
The problem with the room was compounded with the poor service in the restaurant on the evening. Both meals had important elements missing form them and when this was pointed out it was rectified, but not in a nice way. No onion rings and the no avocado in an chicken and avocado salad!
After we finished we were left sitting at the table. nobody asked is about desert or coffee, in the end we had to get up and leave to get anybody attention.
We booked this hotel for a very special birthday treat and spent more because it was rated 4 star, even though it is in a lovely position and the hotel is nice, it was not the experience we had hoped for and left feeling very disappointed.
