Ananta Group- Four Seasons for the lower middle cl

Ananta Group is the Four Seasons of the Lower Middle Classes! Been staying here a number of years as I have to visit Mayo in Ajmer, to be fair this place has never been great but hasn’t got any worse over the last 10 years. Best place to stay in the area, beautiful property, average service, horrible food.

The resort is set in the foothillls of beautiful mountains and offers lavish rooms with other spa related facilities. Our stay did not start well due to us being allocated a lower standard room then what we had booked for. But once that issue was sorted the Hotel was a gem to stay in. Remember to book the superior room and not the deluxe to completely enjoy ur stay here.

Ananta Spa Pushkar

Rooms are amazing and really comfortable and the breakfast is fantastic. Only negatives is that the mini bar should be better stocked and repleneshed as items are being used. We had to call for more stock every day and delivery was slow. The decked area around the pool needs attention as it is dangerous and uneven with nails sticking up which could cause serious injury. Apart from these things the hotel is very luxurious and good value for money.

Disappointing

Stayed here for 1 night in September 2016. The Resort is quite attractive and is a few km away from the busy town of Pushkar itself. Our room wasn't ready as it hadn't been set up for twin beds as per our request made at booking so had to wait 45 minutes. We were given WiFi vouchers because of this (WiFi is chargeable here, per device) The room looked good at first glance but the furniture and floor was rather worn out. The bathroom and linen were also not as clean as we would have liked. The main issue here for us was the food. We booked half board and both the dinner and breakfast food quality was very poor. By far the worst food we have had during our India trip. Bar prices are also very expensive. Currently in a far more luxurious Taj hotel which charges less than this place.. Overall there aren't that many options around Pushkar, we mainly stayed there to break the journey from Jaipur to Jodhpur. Can't really recommend and certainty wouldn't suggest staying for more than one night

A pleasant stay

Overall, our stay was pleasant and relaxing. The place was close to nature and clean. However, the breakfast was average, not very exciting. We were given an unexpected upgrade to a bungalow because our initial rooms needed renovation. Moving after one night stay was not pleasant, but the upgrade compensated.

A nice three star hotel

If you consider it like a three star hotel the rooms are fine, the food is good, the restaurant staff is very nice and the idea of the cabanas is also nice. We weren’t at the spa, but it seems very beautiful and well organized. If you consider it a five star hotel, there are some problems: The Thai/Bali-inspired lobby is not even close like one in Thailand and is just a dark and unorganized cabana, to go to some rooms you have to go through a guesthouse like corridor, to cross a parking lot on a bridge, where there is a diesel powergenerator that smokes some rooms (including our), the dirty dishes stay more than 24 hours in the aisle outside the rooms and those are not at all soundproof. I don’t think that this hotel worth the price.
