Enjoyed my 2 night stay at Ballyrobin. Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. The bar got a bit noisy late on (entirely our fault) The night porter was polite and patient, an asset to the Ballyrobin team. Thank you

Bad mattress

Beautiful hotel and staff very nice but mattresses on bed in room 103 was very very hard i went to reception at 240am and spoke to the porter and explained the situation he told me i was the first person to complain about the mattress i asked could i move to a single room just for a couple off hours but he said the mattresses were all the same my fiance also felt the bed was very uncomfortable we were intending to book our wedding in December with yous but i just wouldn't be able to sleep there not would he

I have stayed here a few times unfortunately on this time I put in a room close to the public access toilets that had a vile smell. When I spoke to them they said it’s coming from the nappy bin!!! It get changed one a day. The smell was horrendous. I also arrived after the kitchen has stopped serving which apparently is 7.30 on Sundays… I was not aware of this. When I asked where I could eat as I’d been travelling all day I got an unexpected reply of I suppose you could order food and get it delivered when I did this they were not helpful I had to ask for a plate and and cutlery. Very disappointed. I would not use this hotel again unless it was essential. I felt uncomfortable even though I was paying premium rate that provides income to the staff.

Terrible shower but great sleep

The room was ‘okay’. We were disappointed that the window faced a hedge at ground floor level. The worst part though was the shower. The shower head was fixed in one position on the wall so high that my partner (6’4”) couldn’t get the water to hit anywhere other than his shoulders. For myself (5’5”) the water was coming straight for my head at an angle which would only hit my hair or the door. Thankfully 1 shower cap was provided… but it was extremely difficult to shower in the small cubical. There was also an issue with the shower which caused the water to shoot out of the side of the pipe and spray all over the bathroom forming large pools of water after a quick shower. I did let the staff know at reception after our first night but nothing was done about it. However, we slept well and enjoyed a good variety of breakfast foods. This is a decent enough hotel if you are just looking for a sleep by the airport but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone planning to stay for more than one night.
