The room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. The common areas of the property were worn and in some cases shabby. My guess is that the owners bought the property, put little money into it, and plan to sell the property as a tear-down. Signage from the Holiday Inn era is still up. Use less deodorizing cleaner. The location is valuable as it is across the street from a convention center. Also close to gorgeous riverfront.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. You could tell that they were doing the best they could with the hotel. The room was nice and big. The bed was extremely comfortable. Also, the air-conditioner worked great and kept the room nice and cool. Sadly, the bathroom needed a lot of help. The tub was rusted and gross. When we went to shower and you couldn't even get the shower to turn on. We called the front desk and and they moved us to a new room. However, the air-conditioner in that room did not work AND the tub was also rusted. We asked to cancel our second night and we found a new hotel.

The downtown location is great. However, the price was not reflective of what you should get. The building is not well maintained or updated. There were a number of upkeep issues with our room alone such as loose bathroom tiles, a burnt out bulb, light fixture shades coming undone, and 2 of the permanent bathroom liquid toiletry dispensers were empty. Additionally, there is no longer a pool/hot tub.
