Lovely friendly place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay, fantastic staff, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Great atmosphere, what we were expecting for our stay. Food was lovely also. Very pleased that we were able to take our dog Luna, she was very much loved by not only the staff but the customers. We stayed for two nights and was able to sleep very well. Really lovely staff

Ideal place for a trip with friends.
In spite of this plumbing issues during the week, the St Ives managed to fit all our party in, with a bit of rearranging.
The hosts were very helpful to us regarding parking and depositing luggage before check-in

Would not stay here ever again
The place had closed down a few months prior and we had not been made aware so when we arrived it was closed. We had to find accommodation elsewhere for a higher price.

First night there was a nightmare. An 80's disco was on below the room till the early hours which made it very difficult to rest. They should not be renting out rooms whilst this kind of event is on, unless you want to actually go to the disco. Piles of used towels left outside the room whilst I was there. Clump of someone else's hair in the bath outlet. Struggled with the TV. A member of staff helped me the first night, but next night it just went off and that was it, after a brief powercut. No breakfast on offer either day. On my last day I was hoping to leave my luggage whilst waiting several hours for the train in Neath with not much open due to being Sunday, but noone was around at 10am. Second night was quieter thank God...On the plus side the bed and pillows were comfortable and staff were pretty friendly, the room and bathroom a fair size, but overall it was poor value for money at £70 per night. The hotel was chaotic and the noise was extreme on one night. Air B&B for me next time...

Avoid at all costs
Absolutely horrendous!! Where do I start?
Check in. Not a front desk you check in at the bar. No instructions on how to leave or enter outside of pub hours apart from, there is a back door. We will come back to this.
Getting to room. Had to navigate past numerous health and safety issues..vacuum cleaner cable across the floor, cleaning fluid out etc.
Room. Need a few lines here.
Unclean is being polite. Contrary to the description daily housekeeping does not happen. If it happens it is shocking…hairs all over the bathroom. Also previous persons shower gel and 2 loo rolls which were both on their latter stages.
No bin!!! Seriously?!
Bunting for coronation was held by the window so if it had been opened the bunting would have fallen down.
When any water was run shower, toilet and sink) there is a horrendous noise.
Walls paper thin so a midnight check in next door was loud!
Check out. First question is how!? Not told how to check out so assumed that the keys needed to be left in the room…navigated down the stairs and squeezed past what I assume was a washing machine, then realised the key was needed. Back upstairs passing the washing machine and other health and safety issues, tool box on stairs, cleaning fluid. Back to the room and finally escaped!
Note: the way out must be a fire escape so how can having a washing machine blocking the corridor be allowed?
In summary if you are a backpacker looking for a hostel then this is for you
