Arrived on a Sunday night around 9pm. Walked into the lobby to nearly all lights out and a couple cozily watching a video in the corner. Apparently one of them was the desk clerk, because they eventually got up and checked us in, after we wandered around looking for a worker.
When we got out of the elevator, we were overwhelmed by the smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway and in our room. I get that a lot of hotels used to have smoking rooms once upon a time, but I think some deep cleaning is needed, especially for the carpets. Since the smell was in the halls and we had an early morning departure for surgery nearby, I didn’t request a different room.
The room itself was fine, the odor wasn’t AS strong, but definitely noticeable, especially after coming back out from a shower.
