Cozy and clean. But the walls are thin, I heard people talking and playing music all night .
Close to restaurants and bars. Pretty safe to walk outside at night.

Very compact room. Glad I was traveling solo as I felt two people in the room would have been too tight.
There was noise from the bar underneath the hotel and on the street that facilitated the need for white noise to drown it out if trying to go to bed before 1am.
Location is great to everything in the Castro.

The stay was amazing and it was convenient since it was by everything. I loved the bar downstairs and the people were friendly. Just the fire alarm was the issue but it was resolved in a timely manner.

Beautiful room and easy to check in and out. Right in the middle of all the fun stuff and easy to travel anywhere. We had a rental car and were entirely confused on where to park it overnight, but we managed.

What a great boutique hotel! The check in process was very easy and they accommodated me with an early check in. Location was perfect. New, fluffy towels, Nespresso machine and electric kettle a plus!

The facilities were absolutely wonderful and I felt safe as a solo AFAB traveler! Also, the staff were super kind and so helpful! I was super grateful for all of their help and they answered all of my annoying questions and made me feel at ease! Wonderful group of folks and stunning property!

There is no parking anywhere near the hotel. I was told to use an app called SpotHero to find a space, but that app only deals with hourly and monthly parking, no overnight parking. There is no lobby in the hotel, so there is no one at the front desk who can give help and advice. There are no refrigerators or closets in the room. Give the Hotel Castro a miss.

This is a new modern place, but the room was tiny and the hotel is digital entry, no fresh towels, etc. great location.

Great location but its contactless entry and with many errors it took us 45 mins to gain access so the process was challenging

The Hotel Castro is located in the heart of the Castro. It's very nice. Nice and quiet. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

With no on-site storage, if you have a late flight home and need to check out at 11am, nowhere to store your luggage. Our room was directly above the Bar that is open and has loitering outside by drunk/rowdy patrons until 3am. This should be disclosed by Hotel prior to booking room #201

The rooms are so cute and nice! They have cookies, coffee, tea, earplugs, eye covers, everything to make your stay comfortable and they even give you a token for a free drink downstairs! Location is also great. No staff on site, but honestly didn't matter because everything needed was provided. If you do need help, you're able to text them. Loved staying here.

I love this place! Is queer friendly! It’s safe! It’s expensive but in a good way, because it’s that safe!
I am new to the city and I get nervous due to crime being common in cities, but The Castro Hotel and the very district makes me feel safe and comfortable with myself and my surroundings. I love everyone one this neighborhood!

Visiting family for Thanksgiving and decided to fly in early to get a little SF getaway squeezed in.
First, the location is AMAZING! Right in the heart of the Castro district. We are a gay couple, so this was heaven. Shopping, restaurants, clubs - all within a few blocks. And of course Muni is right there to get to other parts of the city easily.
The room was (very) small but super cute! The decor was amazing. And very well laid out given its size. The size is an issue however - we couldn’t fully unpack since there was no room to put things. So if you are staying for a longer period of time, you may find it a bit uncomfortable. (we only stayed 2 nights).
This also isn’t a regular hotel. It’s more like an Air BnB situation. There is no front desk. But there is a bar next door that apparently serves as the front desk. Just a heads up if you’re looking for a more traditional hotel experience.
Overall we will definitely be staying here again when we come to SF.
