Great long weekend break

Lovely long weekend from Sydney. Easy to get to from the mainland, and plenty of food options. The beach for snorkeling was a nbit underwhelming and the pool needed more loungers. Besides that the theme nights were a standout.

fantastic location for large group getaway - Port Vila still in state of disrepair which limited the options to eat/shop off island but the island itself is in fantastic location

Great island holiday

Great place for an island holiday only a few hours from Australia. The over water bungalow was great, and the staff were amazing.

The resort island was amazing with great inclusions, staff were lovely and beyond accomodating. The mainland prices fluxuated to Aus prices and above, if you're not a local.

Unfortunately expectations from our visit 20 years ago were shattered. What was an exclusive upmarket resort where you were treated as a guest is now a money making enterprise where you are processed as a client. I guess all things must change. If you are looking for a spot near Port Vila where most things work and are merely after adequacy it's fine. But if you are after something special you are probably better off looking elsewhere.

We had a great stay at iririki. Our room was nice and a decent size. All the staff were very friendly. We never had to wait long for the ferry. The food from the pool bar was always nice. Overall we had an excellent experience.

It’s great it under new management and in short stay you can see there future plans for the resort are going to be great The casino on the island is not owned by the resort and would not go to it

Property needs a refurb however new owners appear to be starting to address this. Hopefully local artworks & craft will replace the really outdated pictures in fales & the areas around sunset pools receive the maintenance required. We had a lovely relaxing stay. Easy & quick to visit town by boat from the island. We would not hesitate to return.

Can’t give a review as flights were cancelled and the company has not refunded or provided a Credit for the accomodation. We would loved to have gone next year instead. We will seek a refund from our credit card.

6/10 Good

While a very nice place to stay, I found Iririki not very accessible friendly. My husband has an injured back and nerve damage and found it quite a challenge to get around AND up the 3 level of stairs to our room. The room itself was nice enough but very plan and had an empty kind of feeling with no decoration at all. It had a very strong paint smell which did dicipate throughout the week however was still prominant and the first morning we both woke up with quite bad headaches. The jucuzzi was good but smaller then expected and jets were not clean. Azure restaurant was a nice spot however the pricing of the menu was quite expensive for both food and drinks and food was lacking in flavour, very disappointing. We did get a meat pizza from the sunset bar which we also found to be quite flavourless. The staff were very friendly, although we did ask for 2 extra pillows at reception and didn't get them until the next day when we asked our room attendents a second time. The pools were amazing but I also feel like a "spa and resort" should also have public jucuzzi/whirlpool in the pool areas. Upon talking with a few other people, they were also under the impression these would be in the resort.
Stacy, 5-night trip

8/10 Very good

Wonderful getaway in a beautiful location with many options for activities on the island. We came as a couple. Things that may deter people is the noise from the nightclub (club lit?) across the water, aim for a room away from reception. It woke us both up on a couple of nights and I am a heavy sleeper. This island has hills and stairs, lots of stairs so if you are unable to navigate this might be an issue. There is a restaurant on one side of the island and can be a long walk if your accommodation is on the other side, especially with kids. The staff are absolutely fantastic. The ferry across to the mainland whenever you need it is great. We would visit again with knowing now where best accommodation is for a quiet spot.
PAUL, 6-night trip

6/10 Good

This was our 3rd time visiting Vanuatu, but first time at this particular hotel… The resort appeared somewhat tired and lacked the idyllic ‘island getaway’ vibe. Firstly, there was a severe shortage of sun loungers by the pools and at the beaches (at Snorkelers Cove and at the Watersports Beach you will find only a handful) - the single sun lounger on every room balcony could be relocated to the pool areas where they most likely will be utilised more. Secondly, the dining area is a bit run-down and feels more like a canteen rather than a resort restaurant - however, all of our meals were very tasty. Thirdly, on the subject of food and drinks - very overpriced. I was thinking this may be due to cost of living increases and supply due to the earthquake, however some patrons at other hotels informed me that they weren’t charged nearly so much for drinking and eating at their resorts…AU$ 6.50 for a can of coke, a local beer AU$ 11 and AU$ 11.50 for 4 thin slices of not-so-cheesy garlic bread, are some examples… Our accommodation (Island Fare) bathroom was worn, but clean, and all of the staff were very lovely, helpful and friendly. On our side of the island (the town side), there was a fair bit of noise throughout the day from the supply ships that were docked, and other building works that were happening (which can’t be helped, obviously). We love our holidays, and always enjoy ourselves wherever we might be, however we were a little bit disappointed this time :(
Jeniene, 5-night trip

Winter break

Vanuatu is just opened post Covid so some tourist related companies and events are not re-established, yet. The island and people are amazing and worth the visit. Iririki resort had not advertised that as they too were just reopened that more than half of the resort and its associated facilities were not open or available to guests. However what was open we did enjoy. One issue was the very slow service and less than ideal front desk who took 90 minutes to sort billing and check out.
6-night trip

6/10 Good

Seems to have a lot of staff but are not very efficient. Mostly are friendly but maybe not well trained in hospitality. A high standard does not seem to be a priority. 2 poorly presented cocktails cost over $40aud took away the essence of the environment focussing on a bit of a money grab. Constantly having to remind reception of no towels or glasses. No drinking water available in the room. Iririki is in a beautiful location and has loads of potential but really has work to do
Gavin, 7-night trip

4/10 Fair

Beautiful place but if you looked around there was rubbish in places that you thought wow looks like it has been there for a while and visible. Poorly maintained tv that was almost impossible to work with no instructions. Payed a lot more to upgrade to an apartment with a spa bath that didn’t work and when you let the water out you could hear it coming out straight into the bushes outside. Real shame as it would end up in there crystal clear water right there. Some of the staff were absolutely useless
Terry, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Huge gaps in doors allowed spiders and mosquitoes to come in during the night and feast on us. Most of the property is unsafe and off limits to guests due to at least a decade of deferred maintenance. Large pool is closed. Kids club closed. Rooms are falling apart due to active termites and water damage. Safe doesn't work. Ceiling fans don't work. Toilet quit working in middle of night, making for a pretty rough morning. Lots of apologies, no discounts. Won't be back, ever.
David, 1-night trip
