We stayed 3 nights at the Kingscroft Guest House. Vol was very welcoming from the moment we walked in their front door. He was very detailed in explaining how everything worked in our room, as well as other features of the house. He often gave us tips for exploring and eating in the area. There were many options for breakfast and Victoria was spending time during the day to test new recipes to please people from different countries and cultures. We enjoyed her efforts to cook both traditional, but also unique offerings.

Absolute lovely stay, excellent value. Very traditional and welcoming, "Wol" really looked after us, treated us like VIP's with recommendations when we went out and took us through the breakfast menu (which was needed due to the amount of choice and customisations!) Huge portions. House and room had beautiful decor and attention to detail, we stayed in a four poster bed, which was a real treat. Ideal location, away from the busy roads but very close to Scrivner's bookshop (the main point of our stay) and the Old Sun Inn pub. Would come again (when we've learnt how to play chess!)

Volodymyr and his wife made us feel very welcome, like old friends. Breakfast was wonderful. The entire place was spotless. The ambience is almost 'Dowtonesque' without any of the pretentiousness or snobbery. They even have a beautiful Blüthner grand piano in the sitting room. Lovely and welcoming with wonderful breakfast.

We stayed 1 night in the lovely room for 3 persons. We felt very welcome and the place has a lovely atmosphere. Very good service and you can really feel how they make an extra effort to make you feel comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and so well made with a something for every taste. Definitely a place we will remember and come back to.

really good B and B, friendly attentive service by the owner. Breakfast is a highlight, the only downside is having to choose the day before, but I understand why, and it is so good. it is a 10 to 15 minute walk into the town centre which is lower down so the walk back is uphill. the room we had was big and had everything you need. its Victorian in style and very well maintained.

It was spotlessly clean and the dinning room had fresh flowers on the tables which we liked. The breakfast was amazing with very generous potions from a wide variety for vegetarian options.
