The hotel constantly tried to up-sale us on everything! Upon check-in we were immediately offered a room upgrade for an additional $80 per night, which we declined. However, the room we were assigned was extremely disappointing - it was a handicap room located in the basement directly across from the elevator and adjacent to the equipment room, fitness area and surrounded by active construction of rooms. The location was extremely loud and disruptive
We returned to the front desk and requested a different room due to noise & location. We had to pay the upgrade of $80 per night despite the fact that our original room was not what we booked and was unreasonably situated.
The new room was slightly larger, located in the basement level and the entire area was surrounded by ongoing CONSTRUCTION AND RENOVATION. We had to walk through active work zones to access our room. While the room was nice, the noise and construction environment detracted from the experience.
We enjoyed the hotel's amenities including dinner, drinks and a couples massage at the spa. However, the room situation and the treatment by the front desk significantly impacted our overall experience.
I respectfully requested a review of the additional charges applied to our stay that was caused by the hotel's room assignment, but was not given any response.
