This hotel is looking very tired. There is rising damp in the walls (including interior walls), the carpet is worn, the bathroom had poorly applied silicon sealing. We had a room facing Harker St and the traffic noise from Flemington Rd (trams and noisy cars) was quite disruptive when trying to get to/stay asleep. The breakfast was better than expected, though: bircher muesli, cooked food, and a fancy coffee machine. The main upside of the hotel is that it is close to the Royal Children's Hospital. We wouldn't stay here again.

Room was ancient, dirty & stained. Bathroom had mold all around. Aircon was excessively noisy, like a part needed to be replaced. Breakfast was ok and room size was good. Would have been nice 30 years ago.

Clean room and accommodating staff. Comfy beds and great in room service with clean towels every day

Price is right for style and age, staff are friendly and helpful and the location for zoo, park, hospital and Errol st cafes and pubs is ideal, or tram adjacent for a smooth ride to town

Fantastic location. Was certainly easy for us to get around town. Breakfast was satisfactory for the price. We ended up have dinner there too and were happy with quality and price. Unfortunately the premises itself is getting tired. In dire need of some maintenance.

We found the room to be older but clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful and room service was a great bonus. Food definitely edible. Parking was easy to reach and on the property.

Staff were friendly, room was very run down and not very clean
Verified review

6/10 Good

The room was very large with a large window overlooking a small park. It was very clean and the bed, bedding and towels were of high quality. The hair dryer was missing and the television was not working. The shower is over the bath which may be difficult for some.

Happy

This is the second time I have stayed here and both times found the staff to be very friendly and efficient. It is a perfect location for me and I would recommend it to fellow travellers

The property is well positioned but quite old and needs a good facelift. Staff were friendly and professional

Great position reasonable rates. Building showing its age which is understandable But very good experience
Verified review

6/10 Good

It is definitely aged like the other reviews say, carpets need replacing in the main hall ways. The shower head angle is wrong and can’t be changed, the water spurts out far past the shower screen. Some TV channels only had sound and no picture. The breakfast was ok but definitely not served hot, and a bit limited on options. Overall though it was an ok stay, convenient location for our plans, and we would stay again.

Room was suitable for our needs. Definitely in need of an update as it was worn and tired but it was clean and comfortable.

Access to Royal Melbourne Hospital, being able to open a window. Mostly friendly staff, hotel could do with a refurbish though adequate
