Comfortable enough

Hotel well allocated; plenty of space to park. The room with good furniture, large and very comfortable bed. The toilet also very large with space to put your personal toiletries. The illumination was not very good and neither the wifi but enough to get by.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience by all means with my 2 daughter. No hot water running in the room and I was asked to take a shower in the room next door!!! Terrible hospitality and the hotel need a major renovation. I highly recommend to stay away...

6/10 Good

Good location but poor amenities - no TV in room. Main ceiling light only, no bedside lamps/table. Bins full from last resident and used dirty mugs still in the room. Replaced on request, but no TV as we were only staying for one night. Payment to use the car park was an extra.

First. When I came in and entered the room. The door was already open and the bed undone. The staff gave me no information. Simply gave me the key and told me the room number. And the noise you can hear from the room, from all the other rooms around, is insane. Overall, very negative.

Just needs some tlc

After reading other reviews we were a little concerned, but as we had just booked the one night decided to go ahead. All in all it was perfectly ok, just let down by silly things that could be so easily put right. The curtains had come off a number of hooks/ no bath mat/ glasses or tea spoons in the room and mouldy silicone in the bathroom. All an easy fix that would have made such a difference. That said, the young man at check in was friendly and very helpful. The walk into town was very do-able, so I would certainly consider staying again if the room rate was reasonable.

The whole experience was dreadful. We had to change rooms because the first room they showed us was just not liveable in….not even a toilet seat! The second room was not much better, dirty and damp. The staff did not care if we were there or not showing not the least bit of concern. We paid for 4 nights without seeing the room…..a big mistake and we only stayed there because we needed to work. We stayed 3 nights out of the four (still waiting for money back for 4th night) and spent as little time there as possible. A really dreadful unpleasant experience.

Avoid

The hotel did not look anything like the photos provided. It is tired, old and unhygienic. The hotel is not well lit in the entrance from the main road, so easily missed in the evening. Even though the parking is paid, they do not keep a record of your registration - so anyone can park there without the hotel knowing. The hotel lobby needs a good clean as it doesn’t seem very welcoming. The rooms were not in a good state. Light switches didn’t work, light fixtures with wires showing. Windows either did not lock or their safety latches were broken. The rooms smelled of pets and were full of dust and there were cobwebs. The bathrooms were disgusting. Mould around the bath. And one room, the toilet had not been cleaned properly as it had excrement on the toilet seat. If Exeter wasn’t fully booked (I did check) I would have gone elsewhere for the night. The staff were polite. But more care needs to be put into this hotel so that it can be adequate.

Not Good….

When I arrived I was told the restaurant wasn’t open due to short staffing but there was a Chinese takeaway just down the road. My room was not very good. It was clean, but the only light working in the room was 1 small lamp next to the bed. There was also no WiFi or mobile signal in the room. The fire door closer was also hanging off the wall. My biggest concern was that the hotel obviously didn’t have a night porter or security. I was woken up at 3.15am by someone banging the door of the room next door trying to fight the man inside. The experience was horrible and very fighting. This went on until nearly 4.30am. I couldn’t leave my room and couldn’t call reception as I had no phone signal. I appreciate this is not the hotels fault, but someone from the hotel should’ve been present. Breakfast was shocking. A small table with a few slices of bread in a bag and another table with some cereal on. The hotel is very much geared to contractors and most of the guests were wearing high vis attire. I won’t be staying again.
Door closer hanging off the wall.

Definitely not a 4 stars hotel

Hotel pretend to be a 4 stars hotel, perhaps ages ago when they have started.. my experience was not amazing and I’ll name of few things: room cold and feel dump, radiators didn’t work, spider webs, mattresses quite old, the safe out of order, toilet not having a lid, hardly to flush the toilet as very hard to use mechanism, need to push several times to have the dirt drained, old old everything.. I tried over the phone to get in touch with them to amend my booking but they had a bad landline so they couldn’t get income calls, finally someone answered to my email. The only nice thing about this location was the fact that I got there middle of the night and they gave us the key and I do appreciate that. Sorry but hardly will give them 2 stars.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy my staff here, it was unclean, the shower was broken and leaking. I looked forward to breakfast, however it was very disappointing.
