Beautiful and old hotel.

It is a beautiful old hotel. The lobby and public sitting area is lovely and breakfast is quite nice and welcoming. Location of hotel is great for visiting redwoods. The only con is the small sleeping rooms that don't have many outlets for chargers, etc and could use updating. However, it's clean and the linens were fresh. It's obvious the staff works very hard...they are doing a good job while the hotel seems to be understaffed.

Charming Historic Hotel

This is a beautiful historic hotel. The hotel was absolutely dead while we were there. Front desk staff were friendly and competent. The bedrooms are smaller, though comfortable. The bathroom was quite small and cramped, but I appreciate that they tried to modernize by cramming in a sink. It was very quiet with ample parking.

Do not recommend

Pros: the beds were clean and shower was warm. Cons: no one came into the room to refresh the towels or turn down the bed. There wasn’t ac so we slept with the window open, which let in bugs. The “breakfast” was 3 bread products, some coffee and some fruit. Didn’t really have WiFi since it was only available in the lobby.
