Hotel Hafen by the port

The position is fantastic and the restaurant is very good. Rooms are comfy and the shower was excellent complete with towel warmer. Small fridge in the room was appreciated but there was nowhere to make a cuppa, either in the room or a communal area. We were there for the Parade of Cruisers. Excellent weekend.

Great location, near u/s bahn, harbour and Reperbahn. Be prepared for many stairs to get to the hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. No a/c, so the rooms get very hot! A floor-fan helped a little, but not enough.

Overall the hotel was excellent and is in a fantastic location. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The staff professional and helpful. It has great bar and restaurant facilities which are resonably priced. My only criticism is over the cost of the parking facilities. Its underground public parking, but the hotel has elevators directly down there. Given this and the cost of the rooms at the Hafen, I would have liked to see the parking subsidised and not just full public cost (around €30 per day).

Find another hotel for your money

Do not waste your money to stay at this hotel. First of all, they do not have AC which I think for the price is to be expected. If you stay I the room where I stayed you cannot have the window open either because of a really loud train passing very close by. The rooms are really old and outdated, the cleaning lady started cleaning before breakfast ended, the parking garage offers VERY narrow spaces (more French-sized than German-sized) difficult to fit a Passat for instance. The layout of the hotel is super strange, do not expect to stay in the ”nice” building that holds the reception. The sheets and overall bedding were quite nice.

Nice view from our premium room. Breakfast way overpriced at 27€ per person. Hotel layout confusing, 3 separate buildings with the only common connection was a parking lot. No common hallway. Our room number was 40502. It took us two attempt’s to find the right elevator. Nice view from rooftop bar but to small and limited menu.

Fantastic hotel with a very personal touch.

Fantastic hotel with a very personal touch. Quirky and with a good sense of humor. It is definitely not a hotel that you have visited before which probably is the reason it is so popular. The location is also great. Also, there is a fantastic pub with a lot of charme and a rooftop bar with an amazing view and very good cocktails. Con’s: the elevator will not necessarily take you to your floor as the hotel is constructed between two different buildings so I would definitely not recommend if you are handicapped or have a problem carrying your own luggage. Also, the beds are very small. But all in all, a great hotel and we would definitely return.
