Very central, great for Bergen sights. Without doubt the MOST NOISY HOTEL we ever stayed in, yes its a city but this hotel has no soundproofing and room 510 faces the main road out of town which motorbikes use to echo their throttle off the concrete buildings ALL NIGHT ! ROUND AND ROUND! Breakfast ok but very busy with tour groups - shame love the location but next time elsewhere. The single lift is inadequate for 7 floors of tourists avoid if you cannot do stairs with suitcases.

The hotel staff were amazing. We had no idea because we received zero advance communication, but the restaurant and hospitality staff in Bergen were on strike during our stay. The hotel restaurants and bar were closed the entire trip. We had been hoping to eat dinners at the hotel. Hotel breakfast was available and was very nice, but the seating area was overly warm. Our hotel room was dated but very clean. The air conditioning did not work, but we were very grateful that the room windows opened. 24 deg Celsius was just a bit too warm for us to sleep. But the windows allowed cool fresh air in. Overall I think this would be a lovely stay if the restaurants and bar were open and the hotel wasn’t kept so warm. It was clean and very near to every attraction. The hotel staff were very kind and welcoming. Advice: check ahead to see if any strikes are affecting service before you travel. They are very common in Europe. We’d always been notified in the past, but not this time. Expedia should do better to keep its customers informed.

The upside was that the hotel was located near the fish market and was conveniently near the metro station. Our room needed some updates as the paint was peeling off the ceiling. The carpet seemed dirty. The beds -2 singles that we pushed together - had thin little mattresses on them. But the down comforters were warm. The attached restaurant had the same issue with needing repairs on the ceiling and the hand rail had come loose from the wall. Wouldn’t highly recommend this hotel.
