Grand says it all!

Grand Hotel was stunning. Such obliging and friendly staff. Bed so comfy. Breakfast was extensive and our dinner at the Grand Cafe very enjoyable and don’t let the name deceive you. Level 8 roof top drinks, providing a spectacular view, were perfect after a day of walking and staff were helpful with cocktail selection. Hotel Grand is very centrally located.

Wouldn't stay again. Hotel is too big, corridors feel like an endless amount of cell doors. No Air conditioning, hostess service at breakfast is appalling. they will accommodate you in accordance with the rate of your room.

Grand Hotel shape up!

Really a disappointing stay. Many things in the room was not repaired or not working, gym was well whipped, but none of the machines were maintained in many things were broken. There was a fire alarm in the night, which apparently is because the building is old. When it happened no instructions from people working there not even an excuse for keeping us awake at 03 am. Wine cellar was closed even though it was announced being open. Cannot recommend this hotel at all. Drink drinks looked amazing in the menu, but was totally out of taste and watery. However, the roof terrace was OK but the same type of drinks.

A nice hotel very convenient for all Oslo has to offer. Close to train station and other transport options. Breakfast was very busy at the weekends and queues were a result. The food could have been much hotter. I would not expect to pay extra to access the pool in a five star hotel. Room service was very quick and the food tasty.

Don’t recommend for families

You know it’s a lovely hotel but I wouldn’t recommend it for a family at all. We stayed for a night after a ski trip before our flight back late the next day. The room itself was nice - we all watched a movie on a big TV (streaming), beds were comfy and the room was a good size. The view from the room was terrible - inward facing to air con units. The main entrance and shared areas are dark, uninviting and not very nice tbh. The worst problem though - I booked this hotel for our 14 and 10 year old to swim with us in the pool but they get 2h on one day at a set time and you have to pay for it! And also pay for all our breakfasts at a high price. I wouldn’t stay here again. Really unimpressed. And not worth the price tag I’m afraid.

The property itself is beautiful and in a great location, but there were some significant downsides to my stay. First, the room was a disappointment. It looked nothing like the photos advertised, it was very basic and lacked the charm or luxury I was expecting based on the images. Additionally, the design of the hotel is not practical for travelers with luggage. There are stairs in the hallway, which made carrying my suitcase incredibly inconvenient. I would not recommend this hotel if accessibility is a concern. Lastly, cleanliness was an issue. When I checked into my room, I found hairs in the bathtub, which left a bad first impression regarding the hotel’s attention to detail and hygiene. While the overall property has potential, the experience fell short of what I hoped for. Improvements in accuracy of photos, design practicality, and cleaning standards would make a huge difference.
