I felt really comfortable with this hotel. There were a 2 or 3 minor things that prevented it from being an excellent experience, but nothing that would keep me from staying there again. Like other guests said, the area isn’t so great, but the pool on the rooftop kept me there long enough that I didn’t even want to leave. Overall, I think you should stay here if you are thinking about it.

The highlight was a pool on the roof, overlooking the acropolis. Being on the roof, it wasn't very deep and was fairly small, so with quite a lot of hotel guests using it, there wasn't really room for a proper swim, but it was great for cooling off. We were delighted to see there was a shuttle-bus into the city centre, but it didn't go very regularly and got filled up so we had to walk. The breakfast choice was phenomenal - I could have stayed there all day - I couldn't even decide what to drink, let alone what to eat - but the following day, when I checked out before breakfast, all that was available was dry cake, crumbly biscuits and sachet coffee - a bit of an anticlimax for an otherwise good stay.

We stayed here as a family with two children and overall good. The room was ok, the staff were very helpful, and the 24/7 reception was a big plus. The buffet breakfast with great variety The downside was the surrounding neighborhood. We didn't feel comfortable walking outside at night, so we relied on Uber for all our evening trips. The swimming pool has a lovely view, but it is quite outdated. Many of the sun loungers were damaged with holes, and there were only a few available, which wasn't enough for 10 people.

Stayed at Novotel Athens recently and overall it was an average experience. The location is fine. Walkable to metro stations, which made getting around easy, though it felt a little unsafe after dark. Breakfast was extremely busy, often with nowhere to sit, and the food itself was just ok, nothing special. The pool was small and packed with kids, some using flippers and pool toys, which made it hard to actually relax and enjoy. Being a large hotel, noise was an issue too. You could hear other guests both at night and in the morning. For the price they charge, I expected a bit more overall.
