Clean, spacious room with great amenities and a great location! Bathroom was fantastic.

Great location and staff! I played on 8 golf courses within a 15 mile radius during my two-week stay. Also took a 45-minute bus ride into Christchurch on Christmas Day from a bus-stop 5 minutes from the motel. And boarded the TranzAlpine scenic rail train at a station 10-minutes away. Walked to McDonald's, KFC, and New World grocery and other shops within minutes. Sarah, the owner/manager made several special efforts to make my extended stay very comfortable.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Check in was a breeze. The room was clean, and perfect for a couple staying for a couple of nights. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

It was winter so they were really nice and upgraded me to a suite

I stayed almost two weeks in a one-bedroom suite. Although from the outside, Ascot Vale Motor Lodge does not stand out among the string of places to stay along Riccarton Road, my room was outstanding. It appeared to have been recently refurbished and had everything I needed (kitchen, table, couch, wardrobe, bathroom, and bedroom. The bed was good and the wifi worked well.

Great staff, highly recommended

The room was great. The bathroom was great except there was no hair conditioner. The floor however did not appear to have been cleaned. The carpet had stuff on it (including someone’s old contact lens!) and the floor was sticky on parts. The kitchenette was stocked but we didn’t really need that since we ate out every meal. Overall good stay.

Bed was comfortable. Staff was great. Nice place.

This hotel doesn't look like much out front. Inside The place looked new and sparkling. Room was excellent. Secure covered parking was great. Service was minimal as there is one person at desk, and not 24hrs. Area is walking distance to restaurants and grocery store. Area has many east asian businesses and restaurants but western food (Italian, American) food are also in walking distance.

Would visit again next time

We traveled as a family - four kids and mother in law, and got two suites. the outside of the building is very nice, but its next to a run down building so we were a little skeptical when we saw it. But the fears were misplaced. Great location, inside was great. More set up for the backpacker crowd - lots of rooms to meet or meet up with people. Great vibe. But it wasn't at all bad for families.

Generous room with well equipped kitchen and convenient in room laundry. Loved the quest. Quiet .

Clean room, kitchenette, quite place next to a park. Easy to walk to city center.

We drove in from Queenstown to Christchurch area and were tired and knew that we were a bit removed from the city, but it turned out to be the perfect place. Comfortable bed, pretty décor, kitchen...you really couldn't ask for anything more...wish we would have stayed longer.

We enjoyed staying here and its proximity to the Botanical Gardens. The room was spacious and the breakfast was delicious. The beds were comfortable.

What a great place! Friendly staff, easy parking, HUGE room; separate bedroom from the lounge and little table with 2 chairs in the kitchenette. Updated, clean, quiet (quieter after the bar closed on our side of the building) and comfortable beds. Easy access to shops, restaurants and church ~ There is a laundry that made it nice to use rather than the sink!

Rose and Terry welcomed me were supportive as my flight was delayed and could not collect my hired car. In addition they supported me to locate an accommodation in my other destinations and provided advice. It makes travelling alone easier having great hosts. Thank you to both Rose and Terry

This room was very spacious. The bed had a big dent in the mattress from overuse on one side. The kitchen was nice and very helpful. Could hear our neighbors talking through the wall while we tried to sleep. Convenient location just across the street from Hayley Park. Restaurants were a short walk away. Short drive to the Riccarton Mall.
