The room was huge with lovely woodwork and a marble bathroom (the fixtures were top-notch with a huge tub, huge shower, double sink, and towel warmer). Ellie, the receptionist, was AMAZING. We arrived at the hotel exhausted and frustrated due to getting lost and other reasons not involving the hotel. I was not very nice when we arrived and irritated about not finding the parking lot. Lovey, kind, and helpful Ellie took care of us. She went above and beyond to comfort us and make us comfortable. Convenient location on the main street in Burntisland. Around 5-6 minute walk from the train station. The train into the Edinburgh Waverly Station, center Edinburgh, departs every 20-25, minutes and takes around 30 minutes into Edinburgh. My room was large, with a large screen TV, Hot water kettle. No mini fridge. No elevator. My room faced the backyard so it was quiet. The window opened a little to let in fresh air.

WOW!! This rental was amazing. We do weekly rentals a lot and this was probably the best we have ever stayed in. It was a full size apartment, a full living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It was large enough that a couple could easily live there full time. Everything was clean and well decorated. The host even left us a welcome note and a bottle of wine. Amazing mansion conversion into an event center and hotel. And there is even a lift to get you up to the top floor! Breakfast was generous and cooked to order. It was somewhat difficult for me to find using GPS. Needed to ask for help at the Tesco petrol station.
Dalhousie Castle is the ideal place if you're looking to stay in a castle in the Edinburgh area. It's about a 20 minute taxi ride from the city center which is just far enough to be out in the peaceful Scottish countryside. The castle itself is absolutely beautiful, and sits on grounds that are equally so, with archery, falconry, and several great walking paths.

This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. I stayed here last May and loved it so much I returned last week. The old town of Edinburgh is a short walk away, while the hotel, itself, is on the edge of the new town with many great shops, pubs and restaurants from which to choose. The staff is very friendly and management truly aims to please.
You won't be disappointed with this choice and personally, I am already looking forward to my return!

Overall, and excellent hotel. Only thing we didn't like was the shower. It's some sort of modern design and you there's no sliding door, there's no shower curtain, so it's hard not to get water all over the floor.
