This place is a Gem! Location is spectacular! I would suggest fans in the rooms and a volume/time limit for Djs as they have lots of weddings. Staff was amazing. Pub and kitchen wonderful. I travel often and I was beyond pleased with the value
When we arrived near the end of time the kitchen was open, they arranged for our bags to be brought to our room and brought us directly to a table in the bar so we got to order in time. The concierge ordered a taxi for our early morning departure the next day and was very helpful. Everyone we met was nice. The room was clean and had a nice shower. Wish we stayed here longer.
Luxury, in a cute little town that you can walk to. Restaurant and lounge are good, but because it is in walking distance to the town, you have choices. Room was awesome, TV reception fantastic and bathtub was a very welcome thing after a long day of touring. Didn't get to try the spa, but it was great to have that option. If you are looking for full-service, not B&B, this is it!
The staff were very accommodating, the front desk employees were exceptional. The experience from check in to check out, the location and food were all great. The only issue we had was getting back to the hotel on the days we were in the city. Uber doesn't go to that area as yet. But would definitely stay there again. City Hotel is part of the reason our first time in Scotland was so enjoyable.
It is outside of town but I wasn’t impressed with the hotels in town to stay there so was very happy at the Holiday Inn. We had a car and it was convenient to park and then get into town. Breakfast was good. Staff was very nice.
Check in was smooth. No lift but successful in lugging 30+kg. suitcase up & down 3 flights of stairs. Room was impeccably clean. Room safe was difficult to access due to its position on floor of closet and tendency to entrap tiny objects in door which forced me to call for help. Batteries were dead in safe but replaced after 1 day's wait. Shower and tub excellent. Wonderful array of amenities. Hotel has stopped supplying slippers. Miss them. We stayed at The Raeburn for one night on a recent trip to Edinburgh but wish we could have stayed a few more! The room was huge with lovely woodwork and a marble bathroom (the fixtures were top-notch with a huge tub, huge shower, double sink, and towel warmer). Our king-sized bed was very comfortable and there was also a large flat-screen TV. The elevator made it easy to get to our room and there was parking on-site. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us champagne to help us...
Ellie, the receptionist, was AMAZING. We arrived at the hotel exhausted and frustrated due to getting lost and other reasons not involving the hotel. I was not very nice when we arrived and irritated about not finding the parking lot. Lovey, kind, and helpful Ellie took care of us. She went above and beyond to comfort us and make us comfortable. She even exited the hotel and personally took me to the parking lot!!! God bless you Ellie for a wonderful stay.
