Hakone Kowakien TEN-YU
10/10 Excellent
"A beautiful hotel and building interior. My wife & daughter both used the women's onsen multiple times and were very impressed. We had both the breakfast and dinner buffets, and I would say they were par for the course for hotel meals in Asia - very good, but comparable to others we've had. Staff were exceedingly polite and friendly. Again, I would expect this in Japan, and I was not disappointed. We used the shuttle to nearby Gora station twice, and that was very convenient. The room was very clean and I took advantage of the tub in the balcony. The room is small, and it was a little hard to get around for 3 people. Unfortunately, there was no place to store our 3 suitcases out of the way, and they were on the floor and we had to step over them. But all in all, it was a wonderful stay, and I would stay there again."
"Rooms were beautiful, large and clean. Every attention to detail was purposeful. The onsen was truly an amazing experience. I highly recommend The Fujiya Hotel! "
"This hotel had a great vibe and really friendly staff. Extremely close to the train station which wasn't a noise issue at all. I really loved everything about staying there."
"Room was spacious and clean. Hotel is tucked away in a tranquil corner beside the river. Surrounding area of the hotel is quiet but there are a couple of restaurants and convenience store 8 mins walk away. "
"The entire staff is amazing and so accommodating, the food was exceptional and we also had a wonderful massage. The rooms are all unique, clean and comfortable. It is a bit off the beaten path and does not have any TVs so you can truly disconnect. Highly recommend!!"
"Gorgeous new hotel. Rooms were so spacious and common areas were super clean. Enjoyed all the amenities. It was just a bit hard to get to since it was at the top of the mountain, but I assume all places in Hakone are like that."
