There is a very nice lake near by. It is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The train station is about 10-15 minutes walk.
Schiff am see was a nice, comfortable hotel in Murten. Like most hotels in Switzerland, getting there and around town is a bit of “up and down” walking. The front desk staff, Stephanie and Tina were most helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and the restaurant is available for evening meals. We had no issues with the room. We are comfortable walking stairs. Murten is an interesting town with an interesting history.

Just a gorgeous place all around, in a beautiful setting! Only regret is we arrived at 8 p.m. and were gone by 9 a.m. However, we are certain to return!

This Hotel is wonderful in every way! The staff was very accommodating and surprised us with an upgrade to a suite which had a huge balcony, kitchen, 2 baths and a living room. Did I mention 2 TVs! It would have been good to have instructions on how to enter the indoor parking facility. It was a shame also that the charging stations were not operational although advertised as available online. There was no option to check out on the self service screen at the reception.
First I must say this was not my first choice. I usually book the 'day of' when I arrive in a city, but this time, there was nothing reasonably priced so I found this place. I was at first a bit disappointed that I was not in the city center BUT it turns out it was a 4 stop bus ride which was about 6 minutes to get to the main train station. We loved our stay here. The room is nice and we really love the fully functioning kitchen. We also loved the location, just few steps from the train station. The price was very reasonable too. Just the only weird thing about it is the bathroom. It’s transparent, so when you take a shower or use the toilet, the other person could see you. Not a big deal for me cause im with my husband but for others it might not okay.
Great hotel can get there from the train with a tram/bus or a brief walk 1km. Hotel was very modern and quiet. Breakfast had almost everything you would want. Will definitely visit again.
