Hawberry Motel
8/10 Good
"Check in was fast & friendly. The room was clean and the bed & pillows were comfortable. The room had an air conditioner, coffee maker, microwave and a bar fridge, which were welcome features. Definitely not fancy and probably overpriced but I chalked it up to supply & demand. That said, there is room for improvement in some very simple respects that would take care of some niggling annoyances: 1. As many others have mentioned, the motel’s internet ranged from non-existent to fleeting moments of weak service. Normally I would just hot spot to my phone. But neither of our Rogers and Bell cell phones ever had more than sketchy LTE service anywhere on the island. So hot-spotting wasn’t a great solution. 2. The bathroom was tiny and oddly, even though there was wall space, there were no towel bars….none! It was a pedestal sink so we couldn’t even drape a hand towel on the vanity. There were some hooks (and 6 coat hangers) on the inside of the bathroom door, presumably to hang our wet face cloth, hand towel and bath towels but hook design & door movement meant they kept falling off onto the floor….ick. 3. We removed the hangers from the bathroom hooks to have room for the towels…..only to discover that these hooks and hangers - inside the tiny bathroom door - were the only “closet space” in the room. There was plenty of space elsewhere for hooks or even a coat tree. But if you needed to hang a wet jacket or anything at all - out of luck. Weird."
Goodman's Motel
10/10 Excellent
"Clean with AC. Across the street from Tim’s Hortons and ice cream shop, next to driving driving range. Not loud from highway, at intersection and slow speed area"
