This is a great hotel. The location is perfect for this city. It’s close enough to the main shopping but far enough from the noise. Parking wasn’t great but the city is mostly walkable. The property itself is gorgeous. The breakfast is delicious and workers are friendly and nice.
From the genuinely friendly hotel staff, to the gorgeous pools, to the complementary breakfast each morning- we truly had a wonderful vacation! They even have yoga/Pilates each morning which was a great start to the day!
Also it is close to the Heraklion airport (15 min) which made travel easy.
Highly recommended hotel with an amazing friendly staff from reception to room service. Our chamber maid Voula was exceptionally attentive and most accommodating. We enjoyed our stay to the maximum in a relaxing happy atmosphere. The entertainment in the evening was also exceptional with the 3 young tenors whom I fail to remember their names but they were majestic. This hotel is one of those places where you immediately feel like part of the family when you stay here. Everyone is so incredibly friendly, knows who you are and gives amazing recommendations for things to do and restaurants to visit. The place is so clean and beautiful, breakfast is amazing and it’s just enough off the beaten path to avoid a ton of beach tourists coming in and out. It has a really exclusive feel while being super homely at the same time. Highly recommend staying here!
We bought very cheap flight tickets to Crete in February completely by change - never been to Crete before. Then we chose Venus Mare hotel after a lot of searching and comparing on booking, expedia, airbnb etc. In the end it was a great choice. The place is ideal for families - nice pool, quiet street (dead end), 200 m from the beach (not crowded and clean), everything in walking distance - bus stop to Heraklion and Hersonissos, the village on Analipsi, supermarket, car rentals, travel agencies...
Hersonissos is very chill. My hotel was fabulous- did not see a need to go out to clubs, etc., except for excursions, as it was all inclusive. There was nightly entertainment, 5 pools, several restaurants, and my own private beach. Very kid/family friendly as well as singles.
