Had a great afternoon in St Albans plenty to do - market, shops and restaurants. Went to cathedral and Roman ruins. Finished the evening with a visit to the waffle house, lovely venue but not cheap £35 for 2 waffles and soft drinks

Sadly the weather was pretty rubbish whilst we were there, but in general I would say St Albans is a lovely town.
"I stayed here in February this year and while the hotel itself was lovely, the location great and a reasonable price for its location, there some niggles with service and the lifts that meant i gave it 3 stars.
I am delighted to report that on this second visit the feedback Gave to the hotel directly has been taken onboard and all the issues I had were addressed.
The rooms were spotless, comfortable and you would be hard pressed to find a comparable hotel in a central location cheaper."
"Nice place. We had a beautiful view of the Tower bridge. The breakfast buffet was insanely expensive and not worth the price. There were only two downsides to the room. It had no AC and we were there during a heat wave. They did provide a fan. Both the sink and shower faucets leaked. Other than those two things, we really liked it."
