Learn more about Lake Orion
Beyond the sparkling waters of Lake Orion, this former resort town offers unexpected delights. Rent a kayak at Green's Park or bring fishing gear to catch bass where locals claim they're practically jumping into boats. Downtown's historic storefronts house quirky boutiques and family-owned restaurants where servers remember regulars' orders. Summer evenings feature concerts at Wildwood Amphitheater, while Canterbury Village offers storybook shopping. Hikers and mountain bikers tackle Bald Mountain State Recreation Area trails, while Paint Creek Trail provides a perfect path for casual cyclists, connecting to Rochester's downtown. For families, nearby SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium and LEGOLAND Discovery Center provide indoor adventures during bad weather.

"Ok"
Hyatt Place Utica
"Overall we were impressed with this property, room and friendly staff, very clean overall, comfortable and spacious room. Minor point, if they can place safe in the rooms will be good as well as microwave which we asked for one and they brought it to our room. I recommend this place to anyone going to Great Detroit area."
The Westin Southfield Detroit
"The property is maintained very well, with all areas in and outside being clean and in good repair. They have a lovely little restaurant in house that serves breakfast and dinner, but no lunch. They close for lunch. The menu is somewhat limited, but everything we ate there was very good. My son didn't feel well on the first night. I had to plug in the room phone to get it to work, but it did work. I hope they do not do away with in room phones. We were able to get ginger ale brought up to the room for him. The staff are very personable and helpful. The rooms are large and comfortable. They have in room thermostats and ample bedding to suit individual needs. They also have self parking ($15) and valet parking ($30) available. The hotel was not near downtown, which is where most of our activities were centered, but not inconveniently far (only about 20 minutes). If you are going downtown parking is very expensive in any of the lots or garages. Street parking is much cheaper, but can be difficult to find. We used an app called ParkDetroit.us. It's on the playstore and may also be called Flowbird. Overall we had a very nice stay in the Westin Southside in Detroit."
