Learn more about Johnstown
Wander through the corridors of Johnson Hall State Historic Site, where Sir William Johnson once orchestrated British-Native American relations with aristocratic flair. The Johnstown Historical Society Museum chronicles the city's unlikely rise as America's glove-making capital, with displays that'll have you appreciating the craftsmanship in your winter mittens. Fort Johnstown offers a sturdy reminder of colonial conflicts, while the Arkell Museum houses an impressive collection that seems transported from Manhattan. For families, nearby Adirondack Animal Land provides close encounters with creatures far more amenable than those Sir William negotiated with. Royal Mountain offers hiking trails with views that explain why the Mohawk Valley has inspired artists for centuries.

Comfort Inn & Suites Schenectady - Scotia
"Jacuzzi tub in room was awesome."
Amsterdam Castle
"There was plenty of ample parking. The staff was extremely friendly the room that we had on the bottom floor was very roomy. we had three separate rooms in our home hotel room alone in each one of those rooms could’ve been a hotel room in itself. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of our room and in the hotel itself there was no restaurant on site, but that was fine with us because most of the time the restaurants did not serve what we liked anyway, we enjoyed our day immensely and we will definitely return"
The Inn At Stone Mill
"It has old town character yet all the amenities needed for a confortable getaway with a B&B cozy feel .. a super friendly staff and generous management."

Quality Inn & Suites Schoharie near Howe Caverns
"Although close to the interstate, it was quiet & no need to be concerned about noise. Room & dining room were clean, good coffee in the dining room. Plenty of space to walk dogs a plus! Grounds are nice. Lobby entry doors are not automatic which makes it awkward when loading up "stuff" for day trips. Staff were pleasant."
Historic Hotel Broadalbin
"Lovely well appointed rooms with antique furnishings. Clean and comfy. Nice sized bathroom with basic necessities."
The Balsam Inn
"Owner was extremely nice and accommodating. We had expected to have dinner there but they were not serving."
