"Well. To start the room wasn't nowhere near as advertised. No microwave,and the plumbing made noises all night and couldn't sleep!!!!!"

"I visited Detroit for the first time and stayed at Hotel Houze for a long weekend. I’ll start with the staff, they were kind! The hotel is an old building, therefore if you go in the winter months the rooms are extremely cold. The staff were aware and provided me with a space heater! It was really cold. Next, they were short staffed in the cleaning department. At one point not having house keeping at all. I stayed for 3 nights. When I checked in the bottom of my toilet had dried up pee. The room was clean, bed was made (I hope sheets clean) lol Sheets showed no visible dirt, but definitely not freshly white. As far as the area. There were many many homeless people having out and asking for money when u walk out. No parking on site, a garage across th street ($30/night) The staff was kind. The room had a washer, dryer, full kitchen, I didnt use any of that, but very convenient. The worst part was the cold, but again, the staff acknowledged th issue and tried to help with the space heater. "

"The coffee is terrible. It’s made with a Keurig machine which you have to prepare yourself. Has the customary package of 2 packets of regular sugar, 2 packets of generic Sweet and lLow, and 2 packets of knock off powdered cream!!AND has the nerve to cost $6.50 per cup!!! This is absolutely wrong! The ambiance and room amenities were fine. Had a hiccup on the last day. Housekeeping partially cleaned our room, left no towels and did not makeup the bed. Minor inconveniences, but irritating. Overall rating is 3.5 out of 5 "

"I loved this place. The staff is professional, welcoming, and helpful. The room was impeccable and fabulous, It had a view of the city, and for a bit I enjoyed my evening before bedtime to sit and take it in. Although my room was by the elevator and the window was facing the entrance side and could hear some comings and goings, I put in my earplugs and was out for the night. The coffee maker and hairdryer worked perfectly, the bathrobe was heavenly after a hot shower, and check-out was a breeze. "

"Anyone who gives this property a bad review...the problem is you. Room was clean...should say spotless. Staff was pleasent. The bars, gym, stairways, elevators etc...were all clean, smelled nice and were well kept. I'd stay again."
