Learn more about Cripple Creek
Gold rush history meets modern entertainment in this former boomtown where wild donkeys still roam the streets with local blessing. The immaculately preserved turn-of-the-century buildings house casinos that breathed new life into what was once 'the world's greatest gold camp.' Descend 1,000 feet underground at the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine for a fascinating glimpse of 1890s mining life. Beyond gambling, explore the Old Homestead House Museum or catch a show at the historic Butte Theater. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad offers scenic rides through the mountains. Visit in summer for lovely weather, but expect to share the experience with fellow tourists admiring this National Historic Landmark district.

Hotel Polaris
"Great for families. The trail outside the hotel is why I booked this place, and although I checked ahead and followed up with concierge about its location and use at check-in, the trail is closed to the public now and property of USAF - and running on it is considered trespassing. Came to Colorado while training for a marathon; ended up having to run 14 miles back and forth from the hotel to the adjacent visitors center. That's a super nuanced thing, but runner beware."

"I don't know where to start. One word EXCELLENT and beyond. From the second we entered the parking we were already in love. Than check in...beyond excellent. Customer service above and beyond. We stayed for our child's 16 birthday...Our son not only was surprised by Happy Birthday wishes right at check in, but also when we opened the door to our room, there was a birthday card on his bed and a small gift. This is what made me so happy as a mom how appreciated my son was . And it made him also happy, appreciated and excited. Also the restaurant's stuff surprised my son with a complimentary ice cream. We will be back for sure , I have never seen an excellence at any hotel to the highest level possible. I highly recommend Garden of the Gods Resort and Spa to everyone. They will treat you like royalty. Oh, did I mention how comfy our beds were? And how clean the room was and how beautiful the bathroom was like a spa in your room. And.... unforgettable views of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak...and the beautiful balcony area on a first floor with visitors like deers at 5 am and mommy and a baby turkey...Gush...I miss it already. We Loved every second of our stay, and oh...the pools ...and the stuff at the pools walking around with icy cold water right to our sitting ... The list could go longer. EXCELLENT . Thank you to all the stuff to make us feel like a royalty. We will be back next year and years after."

"Beautiful hotel, we really enjoyed the rooftop pool."

"We were given a room and two keys. Went to the room, opened the door and it was full of girls and mom's dressing for a wedding or something. Very uncomfortable for all, me and my 13 year old son included. And worse yet was the front desk attendant was rude, not apologetic and we had to carry all our luggage back up front from the back end of the hotel. We did get moved to a room with a better view, but still..... We also had a view of police raiding a homeless camp. That was interesting, but not the hotels fault."
