Getting around requires a car for dining trips to downtown South Haven, just a 10-minute drive away. Summer brings occasional food trucks to the beaches, but most visitors enjoy cooking meals while watching spectacular Lake Michigan sunsets.

The Downtown neighborhood offers attractions such as South Haven Center for the Arts and Warner Vineyards.

South Side
Lake Michigan sparkles at South Side's doorstep, where beach days blend perfectly with lighthouse views. South Haven's iconic lighthouse stands sentinel where river meets lake, creating the perfect backdrop for memorable sunset photos. The historic pier stretches into blue waters while sandy beaches invite swimming, paddleboarding, and beach volleyball matches. Charming cottages and vacation rentals line the quiet residential streets, offering a peaceful lakeside retreat. Summer brings ice cream parlors and fresh fish eateries to life, though having your own wheels is recommended since public transit is limited. Most attractions are walkable, with bike-friendly paths connecting the neighborhood's scenic treasures.

Miami Park
Miami Park offers beachfront bliss with private Lake Michigan shoreline access just minutes from downtown South Haven. Spend your days swimming in crystal-clear waters, walking scenic lakeside paths, or simply lounging on sandy beaches less crowded than the main town spots. The neighborhood's mix of charming cottages and modern beach houses creates a laid-back vacation vibe perfect for families. Accommodations range from cozy cabins to upscale lakefront rentals with stunning sunset views. Historic Hotel Nichols
"This place is awesome. Todd working the front (and everywhere else) is one of the most "selfless" people I've ever seen. He is truly about everything to make your stay here a memorably experience. "Owners Take Note" Todd needs to be remembered when raises or salary increases come around. The crew working the morning breakfast like Cisco and the others are hands down the best in the business. "Owners take note here also". I'd give this place a 10 out of 10. Great Location, Quiet, Clean, Nostalgic, Service, Friendly, and Great Coffee."
Comfort Suites South Haven near I-96
"From the outside this place does not look good. They should invest in some simple landscaping. There was even a time when we were leaving and someone was coming in who asked us if the place was ok. My husband did not want to stay initially due to how it looked on the outside. Inside it was clean and staff were friendly. Our room was cool and comfortable. It was a good location too. Quiet and safe."
Yelton Manor Bed & Breakfast
"We loved our stay at Yelton Manor! The house is magnificent and all of the bedrooms are decorated with careful attention to the time period of the house. The bath was very clean as was the room. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. We had 4 breakfasts to choose from and it was cooked to perfection and was very yummy! The only downside was I think the woman in charge of the house hadn't been to the store and was out of a few things, but that didn't take away from how amazing breakfast was. It was within walking distance of shopping and several restaurants. We would have loved to stay a couple of more days, but were on a road trip. We are glad we made the decision to stay here!"
Old Harbor Inn
"No complaints. Loved the location as well."
Lake Bluff Inn and Suites
"The property and grounds are beautiful. The rooms are fine, lots of fruit flies in bathrooms because the property is old and musty. The grounds are amazing though. The staff was simply not very friendly or helpful. They seemed to do what they had to but nothing extra. Like not brewing coffee until it is completely out. The one coffee maker in the lobby had one side not working. No half and half just gross pump vanilla creamer. Tea sitting out and opened rather than wrapped individually. Kind of gross."
The Fields of Michigan
"Its an AMAZING experience! Highly recommend booking your spot for the DINNER!"
Glenn Meadow Bed and Breakfast
"The breakfast was Amazing! Home grown veges on site. No tv the worst Best. Blue Star Hwy to town is a nice drive. Hosts were personable & accommodating. Guard cats, Huff & Puff, are the best!"

"We booked not thinking it would be so hot in the tent. The afternoon sun directly hit the front of tent which made the first part of the nights sleep almost unbearable. Mornings were pleasantly cool. The restrooms/shower rooms were a bit further than we anticipated from our tent. Not much to rave about for breakfast- little yogurt and berry cups and muffins of some sort. There were chickens and at least one rooster on property which made it fun for the children who stayed there. Plenty of room to run. S’mores around a fire in the evenings was nice. Stay was within a 1015 minute drive from most places in South Haven. May consider staying again if the opportunity arose just not in the heat of the summer."
