10/10 Excellent
"My husband and I made the decision to spend some time to see Tampa and visit with some family after spending time in PCB. Room was clean, and cozy. I felt I was in a little condo. The beachfront view was amazing. The little kitchenette was perfect. Was surprised dishes were provided. Never used them, but will certainly keep in mind for the next trip. I loved the direct access to many things such as John's Pass. This was a first time trip to the Tampa/St Petersburg area. Did take a day trip to swim with the manatees an hour ½ away. My husband and I decided to stay one more night and enjoy the beach. Found a lot of shells. Found the beach was quieter than others we have visited. Enjoyed the hot tub as well. This was the perfect ending to our vacation. Certainly will be staying here again in the future!"
"While it’s not a 4-star hotel, the price can’t be beat, the hotel staff are great… It definitely needs more quality work done to the rooms, but the overall retro vibe was fantastic… If you’re expecting the Don Cesar you will be disappointed, but if you stay in economy hotels you will be delighted…"
"Due to renovations, there was excess foot traffic by our room going to Jimmy B’s. There were many available rooms on other side of resort that would have been quieter. "
"The hotel staff were helpful and kind. We stayed before and after our cruise out of Tampa. We had a positive experience. The Hilton grounds are beautiful and well maintained, convenient to groceries and restaurants."
"Everything, from the front desk, kitchen to the housekeeping team were beyond fantastic. The room was spotless. The entire staff was always helpful and did a fantastic job. The breakfast was always good. "
"We stayed here for 5 nights with our 5 month old baby for a little R&R away from the northeast. We are so happy we chose The Don. It is an interesting and beautiful historic property right on a gorgeous beach with pools and several nice spots to eat and drink on site. The place is well managed and we felt very well take care of. From day 1, what made our experience were the wonderful people who work throughout the resort. Special shoutouts to Diana, the server at The Rowe Bar who gave us helpful tips on things to check out in the area, Jackie who kept the drinks and good vibes coming at the pool, and Yven and Jeckson from the coffee and gelato bar. The housekeeping staff were all super friendly and took great care of the room everyday. Dennis and the valet and bell teams got us in and out efficiently whenever we stepped out. We were able to get into St Pete to visit the Pier area a few nights and it was a very short drive. The list of excellent people working here goes on and on. We would definitely recommend The Don and would love to come back."
