This is a very sweet historic bed and breakfast. The house is cozy and they were very accommodating. As you can imagine for an old home, everything is not fully updated, but it was very comfortable and clean. The walls are thin so you can hear movement of other guests a little. Breakfast was very nice, and they have lovely sittings areas inside and outside.
It was the best time I’ve had in a long time!! Very nice place to stay. So close to the beach ,almost on the sand (we enjoyed the Sand Spur experience !!!! Loved it 👍
Convenient location, great beach access, and extremely friendly staff. The biscuits and gravy served with the complimentary breakfast were delicious! Truly enjoyed our stay.
My husband and I stayed for 3 days for our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was perfect and housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping it clean for us. The property was well maintained. The breakfast was delicious. The oceanfront view was amazing! For us, it was a 5 star experience.
I can sum up my review of the Dolphin Oceanfront Motel in this way: If you're expecting to be pampered with physical luxury, you'll want to avoid this; if you like simplicity and don't mind some rough edges, then this is for you. It's kind of like the dive bar of beach motels in that it's a bit dated and worn, but makes up for its lack of gleam with loads of character. I personally love a good dive bar. I think it would be very easy for people to criticize this place, especially for the kind of...
We arrived very early and were given early check-in on the spot. Staff was extremely responsive to our every request. The rooms are clean and furnished with the necessities for a nice beach getaway. The Colonial Inn is nothing fancy, but the place bends over backward to make sure guests are happy, from complimentary coffee and daily YMCA membership to a lovely deck overlooking the surf where guests gathered. This was our third stay at the Colonial, and it won't be our last. It's very...
Room is like a time share hotel, I think. You get a two room area with two bathrooms. There's a kitchenette, a jetted tub, two showers, and an amazing view of the Roanoake Sound. On top of it all, this place is in prime location to all of the beach activities!
If there was anything wrong with this place, the wifi isn't that great.
Was very pleased. The cottage we stayed in was old fashioned but very nice. The location was great, 100' to the beach and 200' to a great ice cream shop. It was very nice that we did not have to lug beach chairs , or umbrellas to the beach every day. The staff set up umbrellas and chairs every morning for everyone there, and took them down every evening. Would stay again, and more than likely will.
Overall it was a good stay. The room was on the small size but the price was great for that area.
There was no mirror in the bathroom, that should be corrected.
The hotel was perfect and spacious. The only thing was when it rained 🌧 🙃 we got wet to the entrance to our room because of the location...maybe adding a overhang to help with not getting wet.
Lovely B&B. The hosts were kind and friendly. Terrific sunset views from the balcony. The room was comfortable and the atmosphere was peaceful. Enjoyed the hot egg breakfast provided by Linda. Breakfast is brought up to the room at 8:30 am. Free bicycles and kayaks to use. Overall had a wonderful stay.
