If you're interested in experiencing Old California while visiting San Juan Bautista, this is a lovely place to stay. It is fairly recently refurbished in old mission and hacienda style. The room we stayed in was well-appointed, comfortable, quiet and clean. The grounds are also very appealing. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, and even took home a few bottles of their signature wine from Leal Vineyards in Hollister. So far we've opened just one bottle--an 09 Cab--and it was wonderful....

This hotel was so cute! I loved the vibe of it. Slight view of the ocean. Very relaxing. Bathroom was upgraded and they did a fantastic job with the remodel. The only caveat is they had construction/drilling going on below me during the day. I probably just visited the wrong week. Other than that, I would definitely recommend the hotel! I found it very cozy and comfortable And perfect walking location to everything. Will definitely return!

We enjoyed our stay-cation here over New Years. We live in the area but have always wanted to stay at Merrit House. It is adorable on the outside and our room was as well. There was a wood burning fireplace in the room and we were offered wood if we were interested in using it.
