Learn more about Thermopolis
Soak weary bones in the world's largest mineral hot springs at Hot Springs State Park, where steaming pools offer free public access thanks to an 1896 treaty. Bison roam freely across the park's landscape. The Wyoming Dinosaur Center transforms scientific discovery into adventure, allowing visitors to view massive prehistoric skeletons or join actual dig sites during summer months. After a day of paleontological pursuits, the small-town atmosphere provides a refreshing contrast to typical tourist destinations. The Bighorn River cuts through dramatic landscapes nearby, offering fishing spots that locals guard with friendly secrecy. TePee Pools provides a more developed soaking experience when the rustic state bath house doesn't satisfy modern comfort requirements.

Hot Springs Hotel and Spa
"We stay here whenever we go through Thermopolis. The mineral hot springs hot tub pool is nice. The hotel is located in the state park right next to the river with a lovely walking path. Lots of grass. Restaurant on site. Decent breakfast. The staff is very good. I left my purse in the restaurant last night, the staff found it, turned it in to the front desk, and they tracked me down in the morning. All cash, credit cards, passport were there. Frank in the Lounge found my purse. Cody at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are variable. Had a nice room on the second floor this time. There is no elevator but plenty of staircases. Good value."
El Rancho Motel
"Very clean and the owner was very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed the outside fire pit and picnic area. Really enjoyed our stay."
Two Rivers Inn
"Outdated but clean place. Repairs made were done for function not aesthetics. Walking distance to tesla superchargers."
