I booked this lodge in November and arrived in march. Expedia did not inform them of my arrival (pre-payed ) All the staff do not speak English .I had to call my previous hotel for a translator .I showed them my conformation . They were
booked out ,but made a room available to me for 3 lovely days. This is a very isolated area , a national park .Tulipe
is a small town of maybe 50 people on a cobble road . What a peaceful place. they have historical dig sites all over the hills. a small museum...
Bellavista Cloud Forest Reserve and Lodge is an amazing place to stay. They have extremely knowledgeable birding and wildlife guides and the people who work there are super nice. The food is great, although the options are limited.
The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. Ours looked out into the cloud forest. Don't expect a luxury experience. This is a fairly remote location that is ideal for nature lovers and particularly birders. I would recommend getting a package if you go that...

The road getting up to the reserve is a little rocky/bumpy but thats literally the only concern everything else was amazing.
The staff is incredible!! I recommend this lodge if you want to stay in nature. The tour guides are very good and all the staff at the lodge are really helpful and friendly.
The hotel resides in one of the most beautiful places I have ever experienced. The grounds are immaculately maintained, tge architecture is gorgeous, the spaces uncrowded and relaxed. Places like this only exist in fairy tales. The staff is friendly and efficient, the rooms large, well-appointed, and comfortable. The on-site restaurant is very good too. I hope to spend another vacation there.
We loved the lodge and the excursions. My one complaint was with the transportation provided back to Quito. The driver was driving far too fast for road conditions and several people ended up vomiting from car sickness
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying with David at Tarrassas de Dana. The hotel is only 4 small bungalows. They are simply but elegantly designed and finished. The site if nothing less than spectacular. Gorgeous! Full of flowers, verdant mountains, hummingbirds and butterflies. David was a wonderful host and so very helpful. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel served on the private porch of our bungalow. Both were excellent.
It is truly a dream hotel if your dream is to sleep amongst tropical birds and plants. It was incredible to wake up to hummingbirds, toucans, and parrots every day. The rooms are wonderful and the food is great. Strongly recommend
At first looking at the price it seemed a little high but it was totally worth it. From the very start they were outstanding. We arrived very late because of a flight delay and they were there to let us in. They were helpful in making sure that we could get to see the places and things we wanted to see without.
The grounds were beautiful, the room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. I really liked the kitchen to bring stuff back and enjoy.

This lodge is located off the beaten track. It takes about 20 min to get here from Mindo on a narrow dirt road. The accommodation is basic but nice. Staff is small but very attentive. My cabin was spacious with one queen sized bed and three single beds (two of them in a loft). Nature around the lodge is beautiful.
