From the moment we arrived at Las Terrazas De Dana, Marco and his team could not have done more to make our stay absolutely perfect! Such a personal service, caring, kind and going above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay possible! The room was lovely and spacious with a perfect bird watching spot on the veranda! Breakfast was plentiful and very yummy, as were the evening dinners in the restaurant. The walk from town took about 15mins along a dirt track, but this was easily walkable during the day, and a taxi was just $2 if you didn't fancy the walk. I would 100% recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Mindo, the perfect base for a few days exploring this amazing part of Ecuador.

We had a delightful stay. The room was clean and comfortable and restaurant was excellent. Focus here is on birding and wildlife, so it's not a luxury resort. We had a private early morning birding trip with guide and saw toucans! Really memorable.....

From the very beginning the service was outstanding, we were greeted at the door with a smile and such a good vibe. The facilities are spectacular, the staff warm and inviting, and the hotel itself is stunning. It felt like true paradise, the rainforest outside our door. Beautiful hotel and grounds with wonderful views off our back deck. The 2 person jetted tube was just what was needed after a day long hiking treks. Friendly and professional staff and we enjoyed a very good dinner on site and the included breakfast had several options and you can choose all you wish to eat.

I wish I could give them a 10!! From the moment we arrived, Angel and Bryan met us and whisked us away to a most magnificent room looking over the valley and to the mountain. The service that was offered (room service, info on things to do in the area, making sure we were aware of all the things the hotel offered (pool, etc). The restaurant offered a wide variety and most delicious food. It was so peaceful, and with a gated parking area, we felt very safe and secure. Mindo is a great little town with lots of things to do. I look forward to coming back.

Terrazas de Dana is magical. Family of four with special need kids, who also have severe food allergies. Extremely food allergy conscious. Immediately felt welcomed and relaxed. Rooms are super clean, comfortable and spacious. Food is delish and well priced. Ammenties are bountiful so hard to name them all but suffice to say they jade thought of everything, including binocs for bird watching, umbrellas for rainy days, coffee and tea stations, well lit pathways, etc. Property is gated/ safe and beautiful. Staff are super kind and patient and helpful. Words can’t describe how magically this place is.

I’ve traveled all over the world and stayed in some incredible 5-star hotels, but nothing truly compares to this experience. From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel completely at home. I even ended up rearranging my trip just so I could stay here longer. The property is charming and beautifully maintained, with service that is second to none. The team goes above and beyond—whether it’s helping with activities in the area, arranging transportation, offering local specialties, or even having simple food options available for pickier eaters. The spa, located at the top of the grounds, is fantastic. I had a coffee scrub and massage that completely rejuvenated me after coming from the high altitude in Quito. When my friend wasn’t feeling well, they even prepared her a special tea—and she felt better the very next day. Meals on the balcony were unforgettable, surrounded by birds, butterflies, and the soothing sound of rainfall. The gentle, sweet property dog quickly became a highlight of our stay—we looked forward to seeing her every day. This place is a true gem. It’s close to town yet feels like a peaceful retreat. Stay as long as you can—you won’t want to leave! GREAT VALUE for the very reasonable price.

We loved our stay! The breakfasts are incredible! Try the Tigrillo! Marco is a wonderful host! Our room was large and had a beautiful view of the gardens and the butterflies and birds that visit in the morning. The dogs that live on the property are sweet and social. We will definitely come back!

The hotel property is beautiful with great views of the cloud Forest. It’s close to downtown ($2 cab ride) where we did a fantastic coffee tour at the Mindo Coffee House and is a quick ten minute ride to the cable car that takes you to the waterfall hikes . The restaurant is amazing! Everything we had there including paella, coconut chicken and a smash burger were top notch. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They even accommodated a late check out for a small fee so we could catch our late night flight out of Quito. Loved this place!

This place is so peaceful and its setting can’t be more relaxing. Our room was big, clean and had an amazing view of the forest. We were able to walk around and check out the river, the butterfly sanctuary and did a little bit of exploring. The restaurant has a great variety of food. Breakfast is really good, everything with no exception is homemade! I can’t say enough good things about the staff! They play a big role on why this place feels peaceful, I felt at ease and very comfortable here, thanks Angel and Brian for being so attentive, welcoming and accommodating! Can’t wait to go back soon!
